Evry Rankings are Retail only from 2 main sources:

GFK France / Radio France
- Published evry Sunday at 7H10 PM CEST (exept during summer and Holidays)
- Individual formats Top 10 rank by units sold.
- no bundles are include on these rankings

GSD / SELL
- Published evry Monday.
- Individual formats Top 5 rank by revenue.
- Top 3 rank by revenue for each platforms.

About GFK Methodologie:

• Data are collected by the GFK in food hypermark (E.Leclecrd, Carrefour,...), specialized stores (FNAC, Virgin, Cultura, etc.), mail order sales and internet sales (Amazon, Cdiscount,...). These data does not include sales at newsstands or gas stations. The rental and sale of second-hand games are not taken into account.
• 2024 Weekly GFK rankings are based on units sales.
• Boxes containing several games together as part of a promotional offer as well as boxes containing one or severall games group with a video game console, called "bundles", are not taken into account in software data.
• Boxes containing a code instead of a disk or a catrige, called "code in abox" or are not taken into account in software data. (they are considered as accesories)
• GFK coverage of the retail market was estimate at 99% in May 2010.

Hogwarts Legacy and EA FC 24 are the first third party games in forever to break Nintendo's dominance during the holiday or post-holiday period.

They are keeping up with the best software provided by Nintendo and their sales at retail easily keeps up with their SKUs on the other platforms.

Gran turismo 7 have good legs in France.

It's one of those games that probably chart in the top 20 very often.

This week come back could be due to price drop at but I am not even sure.

It's worth nothing that the 2.7M sold copies figure that was quoted by the Nintendo employee for the entire Mario franchise in 2023 most likely includes digital sales because if you cumulate the retail numbers mentioned, you hardly get past a million.

But even so, I find it hard to believe that all Mario games combined (Super, Kart, Smash, Deluve, 3D Land, etc.) can reach such a figure. If true, then it is a staggering achievement. More than EA FC and FIFA 23 combined for sure.

FF7 Remake did how much in 2020?
Because it's more comparable with 16, since it was a PS4 exclusive, even if the console base was larger.

I can't find any FFVII 2020 numbers. Considering it is not in the top 20 listed in the report linked on this page, I would surmise it is south of 142k.

I'm not sure why FFVII is a better comparison, though. Mainline vs. Mainline makes more sense to me than Mainline vs. Remake. And the XB1 sku probably won't change the results too significantly in France - that is, PS4 FFXV is very likely still quite a bit higher than FFXVI PS5. Don't think the 100k-150k guesstimate for FFXVI takes digital into account, though. PC sku released only in 2021.

I think SM2 beat SM1 despite less weeks on sale. Digital is likely 25% for SM2 so ~400K isn't ruled out. For SM1 digital share was likely below 10%.

2022 Sony 1P digital was 20-30%.
Should put SM2 at 375-430K. Best EoY results from PS was TLOU II at 434K. GOWR was 370K.

Also good results for FF16 at the top end. Similar digital puts it at 125-215K.
FF7R was <142K, FFXV was 235K.

Very happy to see TLOU2 doing so well especially when all the upgraded copies aren't counted in all this.

As I recall (trying to avoid posting spoilers for the game), some people didn't like Abby, and others didn't like the choice the devs made regarding Joel's fate.

The game was being review bombed to high heavens and back in 2020. The shit storm even started before it released when a leak revealed certain thing that happen in the story. Many people really didn't like certain parts of the story.
