More than one month and a half since its launch, Peach is back in first place. The recent slow slate of release is playing its role, but these are some great legs at retail nonetheless.

Very easy game to pick up as a gift for young girls for instance, even if it can be enjoyed by more.

To give some perspectives about sales of audiovisual devices:

• In units it's the worst year for Smartphones since 2012.
• For tablets 2023 was the worse year since 2011 at the beggening of tablets introduction.
• For TV it's the worse year in more than 15 years but it's a small decrease YoY.
• PC are on decline since the end of pandemic but I don't have historical data.
• Console are the only device increasing YoY thanks to end of shortages but sales remain bellow 2017 and 2018.

Main reason behind these declines is that people are keeping their devices longer and longer.

On this occasion Oscar mentioned the French situation which continues to be quite disatrous for Microsoft.
From it's weak 2023 year, the console collapse as much or more than the now very old Switch (with is on signifiant decline in France YTD) with PS outselling them about 8:1.
He think that the anoncement of Microsoft releasing games on Playstation and Nintendo Switch had a negative impact on Hardware.

2022 had a really good start but a bad holidays.

2023 was really Bad because while PS5 explode, Xbox stayed at the same low level.

PS5 SMTVV version selling more than the Switch release. Guess it makes sense, I remember the initial Switch release selling a bit worse in France than I was expecting 3 years ago as well.

Don't know if it was under shipped or what was the reason but the chart performance was somewhat lackluster.

Anyway, SMTV disappoints a second time in France, but at least last time it was in November, number 10 in the summer must mean minuscule numbers.

SMT5 is one of the rare games on the switch, that I couldn't finish/was hampered by the technical blunders. If they would have fixed the performance with the re-release than I would have bought it on Switch again.

The woes of the switch version are also pretty well known in the community and SMT is not a game that is being bought blind by uninformed costumers.

(To be clear, I think the switch is capable to run a game like SMT5 if properly done)

SMTVV is a good game. It is better than the first one, assuredly so, but it doesn't solve issues linked to the presentation (at least on Switch) and to level design in particular.

If the path of vengeance was present in the original version, the game would have been better received. A lot better. This is getting close to the actual SMT formula you love and crave.
