Nice thread! It'll be fun to see how the list changes in the next few years.

Metroid Dread is at 3.07M.
Wanted to point this out. Also Blasphemous was very close to ~2.5M a couple weeks ago, back when its sequel released.

What? I had no idea that RiME sold this much. Didn't even know it reached 1M. That's really cool.

I think this list is incomplete, how could Lords of Shadows 2, Mirror of Fate and Samus Returns be absent because they sold less than 150k?

First time I hear from “DeVuego” and as it has been said they don’t use the best sources (for Dread number they use Vandal as a source instead of Nintendo).

So any game that hasn’t had public numbers ever (like Samus Return) won’t appear here. Incomplete list and without the best sources.

Besides, PC Fútbol 6.0 “felt” much bigger than 600.000 units :P

The source is a database of the Spanish industry. Many numbers are old or dubious like Castlevania LOS using Vgchartz/SteamSpy.

It misses some graphic adventure games that they were best-selling games of 90s-2000s for PC in Spain.

Runaway series that sold only 1 million units before the launch of the third game (February 2010).

Hollywood Monsters sold 250k units until 2011.

Even it misses many indie titles like Unepic, Narita Boy or The Red Strings Club that sold a lot of cheap copies digitally.

The Dread number is the first quarter sales as of the end of 2021. Vandal took it from Nintendo.
It would also imply Metroid Samus Returns sold less than 150K which is also highly unlikely.
Obviously Metroid: Samus Returns sold more than 150k, but nobody except for Nintendo knows how much it actually sold. No global numbers have ever been published. These are just publicly available numbers. That should be farely obvious.

I know but my point is that it should have the original source (Nintendo numbers) instead of Vandal reporting Nintendo numbers.

Anyway, tolkir explained it much better than me. There are even public numbers that are not included here so there’s plenty of missing data.

Thanks for bringing this up, Acezam, but DeVuego database is not relevant to the sales topic. Not underestimating it (my profile is there) as a networking tool, but not useful on this purpose. And Vandal should've known better.

Many of you pointed out a few holes in the list. Plus what about Ubisoft Barcelona productions since Wii-DS times. Or the zombie strategy game created by a sole developer in Madrid ablut 5 years ago (cant remember game or developer name) that sold more that a million in PC.

Edit:. Got it! They are billions, by Numantian. Probably the best selling Spanish game ever (no data to back it up).
