The charts are inspired by the work of Oscar for Japan.Wonderful visualization of the console market in France![]()

Ventes jeux vidéo et consoles Japon – Ludostrie
Historique et classements des meilleures ventes de jeux vidéo et consoles au Japon. Résultats par années, par consoles, comparaisons entre Nintendo et Sony.

Infogram have great visual when it come to charts.
They give the possibility to create few charts for free so I decide to use it for some DB content.
Yes Handhelds are very popular in France, more than western average.France love handheld I guess. Interesting to see that PlayStation was preferred for home consoles
Relative to WW 3DS is the console with highest France share (~7.5%) and the console that follow is NDS (~6.9%).
Japan have by far the biggest overperformance when it come to 3DS but France is also notable.
And France did not benefit from the relative strong 3rd party support 3DS got in Japan.
Western 3rd party dropped 3DS quickly due to US and UK performances of the console and the fact they did not trust much in Handhelds futur during that generation.
This result in a lower amont of releases in Europe compared to Japan and much stronger Nintendo share of software sales.
If you are interested in making more graphs and feel like you are limited by the free formula, we can work out something to subsidize a higher tier.Infogram have great visual when it come to charts.

Cause I agree, it looks excellent.

I'd have to imagine we'd see a reverting of Nintendo market share back a bit closer to the 00-09 decade during the Switch era at the expense of Microsoft.
