33.6m only for consoles. Impressive. I expect PC to have some decent numbers too as PC gaming is really big.

Still hilarious how all these numbers are leaking.

is there something coherent or adverse to that "Linkedin" post about GamePass subs total numbers?
or we cannot find any relation to "assume" possible range?

Is it really a leak if its part of a court case, lol?

While technically not a leak, one could argue "letter vs spirit of the law" here.

Recess Monitor FTC grabbed Phil Spencer and others kids and told them to empty their pockets to make sure nothing untoward was happening during lunch break.

I always imagined the "true" F2P users (so literally no dime spent) to be on mobile or on very old PCs. I didn't expect them buying consoles.

The gaming landscape really changed starting around mid-gen PS4/Xbox One generation with all these F2P shooters/BRs and other more miscellaneous experiences like Rocket League that used to be pretty much relegated to PC/Mobile games before mid 2010s due to the newly booming GaaS model.

Related to that, I guess it's true, The PS5 is truly just a Genshin Impact machine 😂

11.7 gold subs sound extremely low. How is that possible? The majority of Xbox owners don't play online?

Starting today, all Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S owners can play free online multiplayer games without an Xbox Live Gold membership. In all, that means more than 50 free-to-play titles no longer require a subscription to play online with your friends. Some of the more notable inclusions on the list include Apex Legends, Call of Duty: Warzone, Destiny 2, Fortnite, Roblox and Rocket League. As part of today’s update, party chat and the looking for groups functionality is also available to that same group of people.

Not shabby comparing with the close to 50 million of PS Plus subscribers in a 2x install base.

Put games on day one is doing the job for Xbox.

GPU subscribers have Gold too.

You know that Game Pass exists? Not to mention we know that 70% of Game Pass (or something around that) are in GPU tier.

Considering that stopped reporting the numbers, would not be suprised if they stuck with PS4. Curious to see that PS4/PS5 split in subs.

Are GPU subs not counted in Gold?
No. That's what that Xbox Game Pass Core tier was about in the first place. To bring Xbox Live Gold to GP. At least now we have a rough estimation how many people were in gold tier.

I know that and that's why I was surprised. But it looks I made a wrong assumption that GPU subs must be counted in Gold subs, because I honestly thought GPU is just Xbox GP + PC GP + Gold.

Functionally it is, but in accounting department - no.

Hopefully the $9.26/sub helps convince some people that everyone, in fact, doesn't pay $1 every month for Gamepass, and in reality loads of people probably just float along at full price monthly subs years on end.

Imagine if someone leaked that entire document unredacted. We would feast for weeks.

All the data, the short/long term projections... I can't even begin to imagine.
But we would also get access to internal memos and how some of these suits think about things.
I'm sure we would have some great laughs at how they perceive the industry and where they think it's headed.

Unfortunately, it's not going to happen :(

Still we're getting more than we would get, just like when the Epic Games vs Apple store fight was happening.

Figured this would fit here. This is from the transcript in the leaks (Oct 22), not sure if anything's new

GP didn't grow in most of 2022:

God bless the FTC.
Lina Khan leaking their entire business strategy out of spite. Based.

Refresh for both consoles coming in a year. $199 Series S is also gonna be a good value proposition. Sadly no pro consoles, just like Phil implied.

Also, wtf is Navi 5 supposed to be (last slide)? Current consoles are Navi 2.

"Hybrid (Cloud) Games" is the innovation they tout for their next gen, so you are looking at a pitch for the 2028 Xbox
