One thing I like to do from time to time is to check on trademarks. There have been instances where a trademark filing has indicated a new game announcement in the future, two instances I can remember was when Capcom trademarked Ghosts n' Goblins before they announced the resurrection title and then there was the trademark of Hyenas from Sega which was found around a 1 to 1.5 years before the game became officially announced.
One of the websites I am using to look up internationally registered trademarks is: https://www3.wipo.int/madrid/monitor/en/#
Of interest to me is that Nintendo has been registering trademarks for games that they have been putting up on NSO and they have been doing that recently for GBA and GB games.
Here is what they have been trademarking recently:
As you can see, Solar Striker for example is a Game Boy game which heavily implies that it will appear on the GB NSO.
What may have actually caught your eye is that The Binding Blade is listed, to make sure this wasn't a coincidence, I could not find a trademark for Panel de Pon which is a JP-only Super Famicom game from Nintendo/Intelligent Systems which came out the SNES NSO apps outside Japan.
Does this mean that Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade is going to be released on GBA NSO in the West for the first time?
Here's the link for the trademark of The Binding Blade: https://www3.wipo.int/madrid/monitor/en/showData.jsp?ID=ROM.1721160
I want this to be a main video game IP trademark thread so that I don't have to make new threads for every new trademark that appears.
