Biggest suprise for me is that Arceus didn't sell at least a million, legs must have been destroyed by the SV announcement.

Arceus didn't even show up this quarter? I smell channel-stuffing.

Yeah and it's still behind LGPE and BDSP. Kinda lame unfortunately
Sell-through was above 11.4m at the end of the previous FY, so pretty close to the 12.6m shipped. However, its legs were definitely impacted by the Scarlet/Violet reveal in February.

In comparison, BD/SP only sold 600k in the 2 quarters following launch.

Super impressed by Kirby and Switch Sports, that's absolute massive.
Arceus sales curve might look more like BP/SD and LE/LP instead of SS.

Ring Fit about to pass both Pokemon games at the bottom of the top 10 next quarter.

Also somewhat surprised that zero third party games past a million - I 100% expected Lego Star Wars to do so, and probably Minecraft as well.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is now the second best-selling game in the franchise.
Needs only 500k more to take the crown.

For Switch Sport from Nintendo "Since its release, sell-through has remained stable without a significant decline in sales pace, suggesting that the title has the potential for long-term growth in sales."

  • Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl - 14.79M (+140K)
  • Pokemon: Let's Go! - 14.66M (+130K)
As I thought last quarter it's probable that Let's Go will take the title of best-selling remake

Mario Karts performance is just unfair to all other games out there.
We are pretty much at the point of are you even owning a Switch if you don't own Mario Kart along with it?

Does the data for million sellers follow their weird "it's only a videogame if it also has a physical release" thing?

Did they actually say so or are you basing this on none appearing in this list (which is just Nintendo)?

Oh snap, 1.8M is amazing for a second quarter for Kirby, I wonder if it can get to 8M, Sakurai's baby has never been this healthy.

Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl legs fell off a cliff. Looks like it will cap out at under 16M copies sold.

Sun/Moon currently has the most frontloaded sales for any (relevant) Nintendo-published game, with 90% of its lifetime sales coming from its launch quarter.
Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl may take that crown if it unable to surpass 15.5M copies sold.

This really puts Kirby performance into perspective.

Faster seller than both SMM2 and NSMBUDX bodes very well.

Surprised _Star Wars_ didn't hit a million. Perhaps thats one of the major reasons for the USA sales crater? Players chose other platforms to play it on?

Triangle Strategy tho ... I was 🙏 for a million announcement. By end of year for sure!

Very curious to see how high Kirby can go. That's a really strong second quarter for it.

They did say it
Here, page 10
That’s actually pretty disappointing if Lego Star Wars couldn’t reach one million on the system WW. Then again the 5 million number can’t be totally trusted since it specified players rather than units.

Arceus got Sun/Moon'd hard.

Kirby's legs are monstrous though!

This list is for Nintendo published games only; so if Triangle Strategy appears? It'd be for western sales only.

There was a time where people used to drag Let's Go for its terrible legs. It got the last laugh.

My Kirby prediction of going over 6 million lifetime looks to be a newbie prediction now lol. Really happy for the pink supernova.

If we exclude Mario Kart this is the biggest seller(not new game) we know;
  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons - 39.38M (+740K)
so it's not that surprising if games like Minecraft don't sell 1 million this quarter
if some of Lego sales was left in the previous quarter that explains it completely

It also launched in the previous quarter and fiscal year so we're unfortunately unlikely going to see it up pop in Nintendo's reports even if it does cross 1m.

We need to rely on usual "Asano's" celebratory tweets
Or it was HEAVILY overshipped, or it will eventually reach that milestone anyway

Lego released this past quarter. Every sale is in this quarter.
No matter, it's probably real close to the 1M mark and will surely hit that this quarter.

Surely Nintendo is taking notes after the impressive sales Yoshi and DK had in 2020 and the massive success of Kirby's transition to 3D
Yoshi is really hard to transition to 3D as a stand-alone character, I don’t think we will get a Yoshi 3D game ever if they don’t reboot the gameplay style of Yoshi games.

Kirby's success makes me hopeful that Nintendo will push for more of the same with other franchises.

A Donkey Kong 3D platformer, if done right, could sell stupidly well

Our prediction is going to be like that meteor that Kirby hit homerun lol.
