Week 24

Horizon Forbidden West was back at the top of the UK physical charts after a quiet week at retail.

Sony's title saw a 11% decline week-on-week, with 95% of its sales going to the PS5 and only 5% to PS4. Horizon Forbidden West was already back at the top a couple of weeks ago, benefitting from PS5 hardware bundles.

Last week's No.1, Mario Strikers: Battle League Football, dropped to No.3 following a 58% decrease in sales week-on-week.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga remained at No.2 for the second consecutive week despite a 33% drop in sales.
The Quarry, Supermassive's latest game that debuted at No.4 last week, had to settle for No.7 this week, with a 63% drop in sales. Players predominantly bought the title on PS5, at 47%, followed by PS4 at 29%, and Xbox Series S|X at 13%.

The only new entry in the charts was Numskull Games' Final Vendetta, which debuted at No.36, with 61% of its sales made on Switch.

Or the fact that it’s boxed sales only and Xbox and PC are largely digital platforms.

I've already posted about this:
  • We get digital and physical data often. And the trend is really simple.
    • Western titles are around 60-70% physical. With digital it becomes 55-60%
    • JP titles are 80-95% PS physical. With digital this is 65-80%
85% is massively high for a Western game, in fact its approaching JP game splits.

The UK has never been great for Warriors titles. We're talking about less than 10.000 units here, most likely only 5k-6k.
Isn't that the norm in all of the West or is especially worse in the UK? I'd imagine that the only Warriors title thas has sold 1m or more in the West is AoC

The figures are certainly quite modest but hearing that a Fire Emblem Musou title has topped the retail video game charts in UK sounds like if there had been a glitch in Matrix.

This was the rank for past Warriors entries:

1. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity (NSW)
2. Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)
3. Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition (NSW)
4. Hyrule Warriors Legends (3DS)
5. Fire Emblem Warriors (NSW + 3DS)

The more Series S units are sold, the more this trend will continue.

Solid performance by Three Hopes given that Fire Emblem is way, way less popular than Zelda (and especially Breath of the Wild in particular).

Yeah, especially when you add in that AoC was a Holiday release as well. This is probably the best you could have hoped for in the case of FE Musou.
