The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Pre-launch Watch [Mark review content in Spoilers]

97 from 44 reviews on Opencritic and 97 from 60 reviews on Metacritic.

Looks like it'll either hold at 97 or drop to 96 provided no one comes in with a real low score.

They've done it again, sky's the limit now.

gonna walk into best buy tomorrow and buy the game without preordering like a giga chad

if they don't run out of copies

It's really interesting how Nintendo has been using FSR in XB3 and now Zelda. All that experience with upscaling technology, I wonder where that might come in handy in the future ...

XB3 doesn't use FSR, but Monolith's own temporal upscaling

it does make me curious if Nintendo will be looking at FSR3

All those 89s were to keep Zelda above 95. Joking aside this is gonna do wonderful numbers and avoiding spoilers hard but I think I'm gonna make it unless someone ruin thins for me on purpose. Even in third world countries every gamer I know planning to get it or at the very least is aware of this game

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet is currently the biggest Switch launch in France with 360K sold at retail launch. Looks like Tears of the Kingdom has a shot at reaching 400K given the outstanding reviews.

And surely TotK > PokeSV in the digital department WW, especially in the US imo

Initial shipment is 350k so it will be impossible to do more unless it has a second shipment this week-end.

352,000 viewers on Twitch right now. I'm sure it'll climb later when its evening in the US.

That was definitely the peak. This isn't a Twitch-friendly game.

I noticed streamers of all sizes have their viewcount plummet instantly - presumably from people avoiding spoilers. Which is a great sign for sales, on the other hand.

Additionally, almost all of the most-viewed streamers outside of Asian regions don't seem interested in playing the game & haven't touched it. In sharp contrast to other AAA releases where most jumped on the games immediately (through personal interest, sponsorship or Twitch drops to help boost viewcounts).

Finally played it yesterday evening, got a little notification saying 24 of my friends were online, that's the highest I ever saw, each and everyone were playing tears of the Kingdom.
It's possible this game could make ok numbers I guess lol

It has been a while since I saw that much anticipation for a game.

That too for physical copies.

Pokemon PR usually comes around Thu after hours JP time (early morning US time). Wonder if Nintendo will wait that long to have data for this or give us something by Tuesday.

48 people have already bought and played this game in my Switch's friends list!

First time I saw a line outside my GameStop here in Montreal for a game. That usually happens for Black Friday, Boxing Day, and console launch.
Hope they announce milestones before the quarter report.
Exciting times.

TotK is now at #1 on the Amazon Germany charts. Never seen a game rank in that position before.
The digital code is at #6, BotW at #13 and the TotK Switch is at #15, the TotK Link Amiibo is at #19, the Collector's Edition is at #21, the TotK Switch + the game is at #44 and then the pegi version is at #83 (for those who don't like the huge age rating thing).

Should get some numbers from UK today in a few hours. What is digital share expected to be there, 50%?
I doubt they are a Switch game published by Nintendo who had a digital ratio like that.

In my opinion digital will be lower than things like Splatoon 3.
If people came at midnight to stores around the world that's for the retail version.

I was seeing those lines and thinking there's potential for retail shortage

Yes this will increase digital especially for week 2 but I doubt that ot will be higher than PS AAA in Europe.

Not sure how Euppre is but now with TotK being $70 in US and vouchers just came back not too long ago, I can see near or 50% over here. First time I bought a game digitally (that has a retail release) cuz of the great deal it saves now

I would say 35-40% ish, no sellouts like other countries as far as I can see (online stores at least) and physical was about £10 cheaper but the vouchers were a good deal.
