I’m confused…

The #Nioh franchise has now surpassed 7 million units shipped worldwide! We'd like to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported us over the years with the release of #Nioh in Feb. 2017 & #Nioh2 in Mar. 2020.We hope you look forward to future Team NINJA Studio projects!

From CESA 2020, Nioh 1 sales are 2.9M on PS4. CESA 2021, Nioh 2 sales are 1.46M on PS4. Numbers should be higher for these games that already reach 1M. 1M could be 1.9M, 2M could also be 2.9M.

A bit confused how The Last of Us adds up like this when they said they had 37 million in December 2022
The Last of Us: Part II was 10 million in June 2022 so this adds up to 40 million. The Part 1 remake doesn't seem to be included either

Part 1 is listed in the original document

I just realized there's more data I didn't see, so adding that now.

Fairly sure the slides are only referencing the 3 SKUs of the first game.

So TLOU 1 PS3 PS4 and PS5 = 30 Million

TLOU 2 at minimum an additional 10 million but that's from early 2022.

So series sales at minimum 40 million likely approaching 45.

I'd guess should pass 50 million when season 2 of the HBO show releases.

Does it say up until which date this numbers are?

February 5th 2023!

I assume the Oiginal is the FF7 port on PS4 which sold 1,3m while FF7R+Integrade sold 5,7M as remakes.

We know FF7R was above 5m units in August 2020, so it fits.
7R last know number is 7+ mi (Tweet from September). Which fits with the total here.

If we assume that original means PS4 port, then 7R sold 700k between August 2020 and February 2023 and then sold 1.3 mi in the next 7 months. And despite that spike, they started giving it as a preorder bonus for Rebirth.

It also feels out of the place in a original vs remaster list to include a rerelease vs remake+remake remaster, but I didn't see the slides, so it may make some sense in context.

Maybe slides are sell trough numbers for Ps4/5? 7m was retail shipped+digital on all platforms.

But the TLOU series milestone was 37 million last December and we have the other leaks that say TLOU Remastered and Part II were 18 million and 10 million respectively back in March 2022. If the 12 million for the PS3 version is accurate, the Last of Us: Part 1 somehow sold negative units and the number in the Naughty Dog blog post is really out of date.
Maybe they combined the original and Part 1 sales. If the original is around 9 million and the Part 1 remake is 3 million (and did not count it properly towards the Naughty Dog blog post total), the numbers make some sense.

TLOU sold 30.5m so far between 3 gens. No wonder Sony continue to remake/remaster them for new gens. Horizon 1 remaster is on the way as well for PS5.

New players are far for likely to pick remaster/remake then play last gen version.

These slides show Sony will continue with this strategy.

It seems a very big part of the user base is willing to re-purchase games on new systems and buy remasters, once they already enjoy a game. So much so that any big publisher with big IPs is a fool for not taking advantage of this.
