It feels like Nintendo Switch Sports is very quietly becoming a massive seller globally. That game’s social media presence-to-sales ratio seems quite low. I guess the blue ocean isn’t totally dried up yet!

Now that I wasn't expecting. Really goes to show how much money EA's left on the table with their endless re-release of FIFA 18 (then again, with how cheap those must have been to make, maybe not that much after all... 😓 ).

QFT, which always reminds me of GTA V Switch's MIA.

BTW to be more precise Hogwarts PS5 is around 107K and Zelda is 315K combined, not necessarily 15K Collectors :)

Mario 3D World, Party Superstars, TLOUPI, NSMBUDx, and Final Fantasy XVI would've completed the top 20 together with Hogwarts Switch in no specific order from the top of my head.

Thank you for all the information. Do you know (or would mind sharing) whether Pokémon Scarlet/Violet (all SKUs included, such as the double pack and the DLC bundle) already crossed 450k retail?

I think, without doing much of the maths, that it's preeeety much there, probably slightly above yes.

Do you know why Ragnarok didn't make the cut despite selling 96K on PS5 alone till 2023 september? Here is list of top 10 PS5 selling games in Spain 2023 till september.

  1. God of War: Ragnarok - 96.000 unidades
  2. Hogwarts Legacy - 92.000 unidades
  3. The Last of Us Parte I - 43.500 unidades
  4. Final Fantasy XVI - 35.000 unidades
  5. FIFA 23 - 33.500 unidades
  6. Resident Evil 4 Remake - 27.500 unidades
  7. Grand Theft Auto V - 22.500 unidades
  8. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - 18.000 unidades
  9. F1 23 - 15.500 unidades
  10. Forspoken - 13.000 unidades

So EA Sports FC 24 was the best selling game of the year by a country mile. I went back and looked at the two previous years via the link in the OP and as I suspected FIFA led the year each time.

When was the last time FIFA/EA Sports FC wasn't the bestselling game of the year? GTAV maybe?

The final two weeks (51+52) for hardware are mentioned in the article, better late than never

Seeing that EA Sports FC 24 PS4 version was the best selling SKU means that there's a lot of potential growth for the PS5 in countries like Spain, Italy, and many more.

It also tells that the PS4 software sales might be closer to the 2 Billion mark WW.

The current limit for PS5 sales in Spain is its price. It is selling extremely well when it gets discounted, showing the potential of the platform.

Because the cut is just higher :) It'd be around or below the ballpark for the top 20.

Which is amazing considering how there's been no marketing for it like for years, only word of mouth for Game Pass and the tempting price of the Series S.

To share some interesting stat I will say that Nintendo Switch represented almost 49% of all physical software sold (units) in 2023 followed by PlayStation 5 with 24%.

...

AEVI yearly physical software revenue is wrong for the 3rd year in a row, the real number is a lot smaller.

If you divide 418.000.000 euros by 6.501.652 games sold you get a price average of 64,29 euros per game sold. Obviously this is a very wrong stat and I have no idea why they keep making this mistake, it is not professional.

While we should take things with a grain of salt as mentioned by Bruno, I am quite impressed that Sports is not the dominant genre in Spain. I imagined that FIFA would be enough to push the genre at the summit of the charts.

5.5:1 ps5:xbs seems pretty respectable for xbs given the market and that it was a flood year of ps stock.

most of the weeklies i recall seemed way worse like up to 8-10:1 so i'm not sure how that happened.

psportal interestingly has been fully in stock on amazon usa for a couple days. it has moved up to #24, with 6k sold (which is likely more than any xbs sku, granted xbs has been a joke on amazon this gen). if sony intends to actually supply it now we could get a better feel of it's true demand.

From the info in the OP can't we infer that the 2 remaining SKU of Hogwarts (XB, NSW) should be around 30-50k more or less
Hogwarts Switch sold 32.500 in its first 3 weeks. At that time HL sold 200.000 units accross all platforms.

If we assume the remaining 50k were evenly split between Switch and all platforms we would be at:

But those are estimates, even if they shouldn't be that far off.

People are underestimating MP4 breakout success 10mil+ sales! I'm a broken record now with it lol. Please show us the gameplay this month
Metroid IP seams bigger in Spain than rest of Europe.

Do we know what Dread's LTD is? Or at least what it did in 2021? I don't recall any updates after it fell out of the weekly charts.
Dread did 37k in 2021 from the 2021 yearly report thread.

Nintendo games sellin 10m+ without the help of Asia are very rare.

I think MP4 should aim for 5m+ which would already be a tremendous result.

Dont forget I agree with 5mil mark. I said expectations/goals/etc should be around that mark with dread gonna be near the 3.5 lifetime.

My 10mil is just another Breakout success story I'm predicting for 😉

Also the remaster was digital only right for like a month or 2? That would mean MPRemaster is alot bigger

IIRC, outside of US/Canada the game launched physically roughly a month later (so early march).

Based on the 50k initial shipment and the physical shipment numbers we have, it had a ~67% digital ratio in Japan in the first month. Also seems there were no wide spread shortages there for the game either. No guarantee that ratio is representative, but it's probably the most specific info we have.
