Total worldwide shipments and digital sales for Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate have surpassed 500,000 units as of December 2022, publisher Spike Chunsoft announced. The number covers all versions of the game.
Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate first launched for DS on December 9, 2010 in Japan, followed by PS Vita on June 4, 2015 in Japan and July 26, 2016 in North America and Europe, Switch and PC on December 2, 2020 worldwide, and iOS and Android on March 30, 2022 in Japan.

Good to see a series from the Chunsoft pre-merger doing well many years later. Surprised that Spike Chunsoft haven't released 'Plus' versions of 3 & 4 as well based on the PSP ports. Not taking auto-translations as gospel when it comes to shipped & sold (as I found with Witch of the Holy Night, thanks again @Zaimokuza for the Aniplex USA tweet) but it has more detail:
Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune & the Dice of Fate" (Shiren the Wanderer 5 & 5 Plus in Japan) has shipped over 500,000 units worldwide! Commemorative sale with up to 50% off!
Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that "Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune & the Dice of Destiny", which is currently on sale on various game platforms, has shipped over 500,000 units worldwide (*1). (*2) (*3).

In addition, a commemorative sale will be held at all stores where the downloadable version of the game is currently available; the Nintendo Switch/PC (Steam)/iOS/Android version of "Shiren the Wanderer 5 Plus" will be eligible for the sale, with a special price of up to 50% off.

Shiren the Wanderer is a dungeon-exploration RPG released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995. The game received enthusiastic support from players and became a series, and in December 2010, "Shiren the Wanderer 5" was released for the Nintendo DS. A power-up version of the game, "Shiren the Wanderer 5 Plus," was subsequently released for PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam), with new elements added, and on April 1, 2022, the game was released for smartphones as well. Each of these titles has been selling well, and by December 2022, the total worldwide shipments of this hit title will exceed 500,000 units. Through this commemorative sale, we hope to deliver the appeal of this title to an even greater number of people.

*3 Figures for package versions are shipments, and figures for downloadable versions are sales figures.

So we're looking at 321,590 for remaining Japanese domestic retail shipped & download sales, global & iOS/Android sales to reach half a million. Regardless of the exact breakdown, it's a neat snapshot, providing insight into how the likes of Spike Chunsoft benefit from good word of mouth & enhanced ports over the past decade just as CAPCOM does via its Platinum Sales List. Would not be surprised to see a sixth entry at some point in the near future, but more back catalogue ports & remasters from many other pre-merger series would be a good idea as well. edit: typos

Good news! Love this series. It's like an arcade take on the RPG. I bought the Vita version, never opened it, and then rebought it on Switch. No regrets!

...except for getting the Vita.

Anyway, Chunsoft has been coasting on Shiren 5 for far too long. It's time for Shiren 6!

Also Culdcept, Itadaki Street, and Etrian Odyssey. Thx.
