Hello everyone
I hope you are all well!
It does feel like we are at a turning point: the "calm before the storm".
Therefore we better be prepared and we have prepared several key announcements that I am happy to share with you today
New Archivists
In order to reward posters with a remarkable contribution to the Community, we wanted to officially give the Archivist role to two specific members:
- @JC317 for the monumental archiving work done on the Bahamut charts, granting a new look at the Taiwanese market.
- @Evilnemesis8 for the incredible work done on the Steam thread which is becoming a pillar of our community.
Changes in the badges promotions
Overall I'd say that the system is working our pretty well. However, it tends to favor people participating in busy threads (which get more views, and therefore "thanks" potential) while making it more difficult for user archiving lots of data.
As a result, "Archivists" will now automatically get access to the upper tiers (Scholar, Experts, Genius, Legend). Since the "Archivist" role is the testimony of significant contributions to the Community, it is quite logical. For non-Archivist users, the only change is that the Scholar badge will be more difficult to reach and the Experts/Genius/Legend ones will be locked to the Archivists.
Everyone can become an Archivist but it does take time and effort so it felt natural for it to be reflected on the Badge system. For instance, we still lack someone to take the Box-Office threads into their own hands, which is a shame because there's untapped potential as of now.
Multiple prefixes
You might have noticed over the past week that threads can now have multiple prefixes. This will make significantly easier to search for specific content and notably for Database threads. Between this and the changes made above, I hope we might see more people building and searching Database threads
Promotions to full members
As a reward of their fidelity, select older junior accounts will be promoted to full members. Not everyone is an active poster, it doesn't mean that they are not an important part of the Community. Feel free to reach out if you think you have a claim for it!

We anticipate a rise in traffic and activity in the forum in the near future so we are definitely looking for:
- Moderators
- Writers
- One Admin
- Any role you feel you could fill !

You can now make a Ticket (accessible at the top left of the toolbar) to ask for the forum's help in funding your project. Don't hesitate, we have the means to fund a few of those!
The Big announcement
It is something we always had in a back of our mind and it seems like things are now moving in the right direction. We will be holding the 1st Install Base Q&A with an industry analyst at the end of September!
More details will be shared soon but it should cover a wide range of topics going from the Playstation 5 Pro outlook, Xbox's strategy, Nintendo's upcoming transition or the rise of Steam megahits. I look forward to gather all your thoughts and ideas on this exciting project
