Rune Factory 5 sells 500 000 units worldwide

XSEED just announced it via PR:

XSEED Games, the independent-minded publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., announced today that Rune Factory 5, the latest entry in the RPG/Farming sim franchise, has sold over 500,000 copies worldwide on the Nintendo Switch™ system. The announcement comes less than two months out from the title’s launch in North America and Europe on Mar. 22 and 25, 2022, respectively, and less than a year from its initial launch in Japan on May 20, 2021.

No "fastest-selling game in the series" or whatever this time.

Rune Factory 4 Special in comparison:

STORY OF SEASONS’ fantasy themed spin-off, Rune Factory, also reached the same sales milestone in North America this month, marking a summer of great growth for the company’s farming simulation titles. Rune Factory 4 Special, which launched on the Nintendo Switch™ system on February 25, 2020, reached the 100,000 unit sales milestone in less than five months in North America.

Most recent update we have (I think) for Japan is this:
