They actually increased the price in EU with the new bundles.

Series X Digital is 499.99€ and the new Series X is 649.99€.

They can't match 374.99€ or 429.99€ of Ps5 at least in the EU.

i cant believe this will be all there is, as we know both xsx and ps5, disc equipped, hit $349 last holiday for extended periods (especially the former). so imo anything more (less?) than 299 for the digital models will be a letdown.

this is 375 for the digital ps5, so obviously a worse deal a year later. but, it's just what they're hoping, all their plans will fall apart in the heat of battle lol.

for holidays, sure. the disc xsx was 349 last year. i'm shooting for 299 xsx de or it's not exciting.

ms will do what it takes to have a good holiday in the usa. it's what keeps them afloat.


I wonder how many of the 30th anniversary slim units were made. Those are sold out everywhere as well

i was vaguely thinking of trying to ebay one (occasional side hustle of mine you might say), but from what i looked its not exciting at all. looked as if they were pricing around 775, and thats in the heat of them just releasing. considering after taxes they will cost about 540, and ebay takes damn near 15%, you are looking at 660-540~$120 profit. And again thats in release hype. Not worth it to me. thats if nobody returns one...thats why i far prefer Facebook marketplace, but the problem there is fb buyers dont tend to care about anything like 30th anniversary.

PlayStation 5 never hit 349$ let alone disk equipped at least officially by Sony.

I'm sure retailers will do some agressive discounts on top though.

i dunno officially but it was. target iirc for one retailer. but then i recall it spreading all over.

was even much more common on xsx.

it says one day but i seem to recall it spreading to other retailers and dragging on. as i keep saying, with xsx for sure 349 was just common for a while, a couple of weeks iirc.

Also the bottom sentence is misleadingly cut off, it actually says EXCLUDES a bunch of stuff such as the digital PS5. The 349.99 was on the disc model.

But it was never official.

The prices were $429.99 and €429.99.

This holiday season, prices will be more aggressive, and as you said, some retailers might go even crazier, like Target did last year.

I'm talking about PlayStation; I don't follow Xbox as much these days.

The PS5 $350 price only was for several minutes (very limited supply) at only one retailer (Target). It was a PR stunt, and never spread to other retailers.
The official offers were $499 for SM2 and CoD bundles over the entire holiday period, and 3 days of $50 discount on the standalone Disc model (see below)
