Reminder that Forbes has a real-time billionaires list, the list holds over 2000 billionaires: https://www.forbes.com/real-time-billionaires/

Forbes keeps profiles on every billionaire, here is Jensen Huang's profile: https://www.forbes.com/profile/jensen-huang-1/

Profiles usually contain a Wealth History line chart which contains Net Worth by Year. (Net Worth = Assets - Liabilities)

The following table is Jensen Huang's Wealth History:

YearNet Worth (USD)
2017$2.7B
2018$5.6B
2019$3.8B
2020$4.7B
2021$11.8B
2022$20.6B
2023$21.1B

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang was ranked 76 on the billionaires list in 2023 according to the profile. He is currently ranked 20th on the real-time billionaires list as of 3/3/2024 with a net worth of $72.6B.

The year 2024 has only just started and his net worth went up $51.5B in just a few months which is most likely attributed to the AI boom where NVIDIA had the first mover advantage from investing in AI over the last decade which is why companies and institutions purchase hardware from NVIDIA.

NVIDIA has very recently reached a market cap of $2.06T (all-time high) with the share price currently at $822.

You want to know how its market cap compares to other companies? I'll just reference the first google search result I found, and the data is as of today: https://companiesmarketcap.com/

Company NameMarket Cap (USD)
Microsoft$3.087T
Apple$2.774T
NVIDIA$2.056T
Saudi Aramco$2.036T
Amazon$1.851T
Alphabet (Google)$1.710T
Meta Platforms (Facebook)$1.280T
Berkshire Hathaway$881.52B
Eli Lilly$743.14B
TSMC$694.46B

That is a top ten list of the most valuable companies by market cap worldwide. It seems Apple had a downturn recently, so they lost their $3T market cap status. This list gives you the perspective that NVIDIA is more valuable than Amazon, Google and TSMC.

That's all the info I am showing for NVIDIA. A reminder that other billionaires related to video games on the Forbes real-time billionaires list include:
- Gabe Newell (CEO of Valve): https://www.forbes.com/profile/gabe-newell/
- Yoichi & Keiko Erikawa (CEO and President of Koei Tecmo respectively. Note: net worth is not being tracked in real-time): https://www.forbes.com/profile/yoichi-keiko-erikawa/

how soon, if, when, does ai bubble pop is the question...

feels...nervous.

I don't see it really popping, it will likely shrink from what a lot of CEOs really want it to be to a more reasonable and sustainable tool.

But it's something that will grow and have use (like in video games), so I don't see it "popping". There will likely be a correction on its current market value though.

I don't see it really popping,
I will be honest, I not so sure that this is something that can be sustained over time. I feel like the similar hype wave that pulled in Crypto Currencies, and Jensen Huang rode that was for as long as he could. Maybe to long, because before this AI train, Nvidia was ailing with a hangover on investment.

Honestly, the questions being asked now with concerns to AI is over how to apply it. The few answers that we have don't feel like they are good enough. It will cause a contraction but my question to that is how big is it going to be?

I think the better question is if or when will Nvidia lose its USP with regards to AI? Google has its TPUs, there's hardware like Groq which is like 10x faster at inference than Nvidia, Microsoft is currently building its own chips... will Nvidia be able to keep outpacing its competitors? I personally think Jen-Hsun is a genius-tier CEO and might actually pull it off, but I wouldn't bet too much money on it.

There's no POP, it'll just be a decline as AI hype recedes to mundanity.

How big can you imagine?
Probably bigger than that.
Feels like early days, and its already amusing and occasionally helpful.

Big whoop right, until we consider thats just the protozoa versions we are petri-dishing šŸ˜

In which case Nvidia could still be "cheap"!?

So, I apologize for the tangent. But hoenstly I find this pretty interesting, particularly when it comes to the reputation Gabe Newell has online. He may be one of, if not the only corporate suit of a massive comapny remaining whom the gaming community really respects... one can argue almost to a fault, with how popular and beloved Steam is.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but it's an interesting observation.

I can't update the thread title because there's no more space.

Here's the title again:
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang's Net Worth is $72.6B as of 3/3/2024, ranked 20th in the Forbes Real-Time Billionaires list.

I am looking at his Forbes profile right now: https://www.forbes.com/profile/jensen-huang-1/

It has only been a few days and...

Jensen Huang's net worth is currently $81.7B as of the 7th of March 2024, he has moved up to the 18th richest billionaire in the world.

By the way, who else here has had their net worth rise by $9.1B in just a few days?

Edit: Wow, NVIDIA share price is at $926.69 currently.

NVIDIA's market cap is currently $2.32T. NVIDIA's market cap went up by $260B in the same period of time mentioned here.
