Why the heck is HSR down to a 2.x rating in US Google Play, did I miss some explosive drama? That's lower than Genshin!

Seems like you caught it right before an update since just an hour later I see it at #4 on JPN/SK, for example, and CN is like #9. Also WuWa has shown up in SK Top Downloads with this anni.

Seems like a solid enough result.

New South Korean requires domestic representatives for major foreign games with either ₩1 trillion ($700,000) in annual revenue or over 100,000 monthly users in Korea

Wish they'd mention what games this effects. Makes perfect sense though, every country should demand the same, particularly with this piece of shit gacha garbage.

Hoyo had a livestream discussing Nod-Krai, what they intend to do with the region and some bts about Genshin
Version releases september 10th

Enshittification

Global passives

In game spending ads

Limited time spending events and sales

Bassicaly it’s turning into a p2w game all it needs is multiplayer

But effectively it is monetizing the hell out of its players

On top of that the game doesn’t really add muxh anymore

Events are dead pretty much with one 2-3 hour one with Bassicaly ntohing to do per patch and like 6-10 hours of story

Have been the past 3 patches

The only difference is that this one just gives you more ways to spend money

So I missed it until recently, but apparently Hoyo trademarked Honkai: Nexus Anima about a week ago, and they've started creating X accounts for each region.

They really like the Honkai branding, huh? (As long as I get to play Elysia I'm in.)

Oh, I guess that's why they permanently increased HI3's patch length from 6 weeks to 9 weeks.

Though I think it's way too soon for another game. They havent even released their Stardew Valley game yet

Keep in mind that this will mainly be the promotion for their new game and this the game could release as late as early 2026. This game was the probable hiring ad they had last year whereas the Stardew/Animal crossing one was more directly leaked (and could have been cancelled/merged into this game)

And here it is. Seems to be similar to Pokèmon Masters EX, but with Honkai Characters

> MHY makes too many identical games and they are cannibalizing themselves to the detriment of each game.
> What if we made a game from the assets of those games so it all becomes on interchangeable and indistinguishable soup?

Bold strategy, cotton!

That’s defintly a bold strategy

I think it’s a shitty one that misses the point of why people like Pokémon entirly

People like the trianers

They don’t play monster battling for the trainers

People who like bladr

Will play this game cause balde sucks in star rail avtuslly nvm

Their aniaml crossing game can’t come soon enough

They need smth different

The market decided to copy Genshin and just contract itself too hell

Every gscha feels and looks the same cause they are

They need to reinvent

Mihoyo has more than enough games with the same aesthetic, systems and/or monetization. ZZZ keeps on struggling so it makes sense to go back to honke, but I think they shoud have invested in alternative media (anime, comics, novels), not a pokemon like. The upcoming animal crossing competitor makes much more sense.

they do spend some money on animation. like DillonGoo for promotional stuff. might as well go all in and hire them to make a long-form cartoon

Japanese Mobile MOBA analysis. #COMPASS is the biggest, grossing over $240 million over the last 5 years. Brawl Stars is second at about half that for the Japanese market. Others like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Pokemon Unite are notably below $100 million
For Korea, Netmarble's RF Online NEXT has grossed $20 million in under a month, making it the second highest grossing app for the 30 day tracking period, behind only Lineage M and the biggest launch in Korea for this year.

A bilibili account called "Genshin: Thousand Stars" has been found. Some say it's their Animal Crossing/Stardew Valley-like game
If it follows the same account creation as Honkai Nexus, we might get an announcement soon
Great idea

What we need right now is their one unqiue game becoming a Genshin spin off

That’ll do wonder for attracting new players

Tbh, I don't think it's the AC game considering it already registered it's game Icon and what we have of how the game looks nothing like genshin.

So I'm betting it's something else genshin related, similar to Honkai Nexus

Isn't that Petit Planet, formerly Astaweave Haven?

This is going to turn out

Interesting
I feel the gacha market is reaching a breaking point

It’s stagnant and further monetizing the same audience,

Also for Genshin, patch v5.6 just arrived with no additional voice actor recasts. This follows Kinich's (SAG unionized) EN VA John Patneaude being replaced with foreign VA Jacob Takanashi in v5.5 after several versions of silence, spurring a social media stir among EN cast members.

Note that video game publishers targeted by the SAG-AFTRA strike have submitted their final offer to the union recently, as use of generative AI in video game voicework remains a sticking point.

SAG Statement - via Variety
SAG-AFTRA is holding an informational meeting on Wednesday, May 7 for members who work under the Interactive Media Agreement. We expect to review the employers’ and union’s latest offers and hear their feedback in that confidential setting. Members can register at sagaftra.org/videogamestrike.

Venti and Kaeya's voice actors have been active on social media, teasing the possibility of returning soon. This patch includes a major story mission in Mondstat (a return to a launch area), however datamining indicates that the majority of the Mondstat cast, including those two, are silent.
