Switch hw still high, but I was hoping for 200k
apart from that, very healthy software landscape on the Switch
Will there be anotehr chart for the year, or is the 4.8mil the final YtD hw number for the console?

Switch Lite definitely doing good work this week, with that model the only one to increase. Not bad at all, considering some thought it was being phased out earlier in the year!

Nice hardware numbers, Switch is slowing down but then again it’s nearly 6 years old so is very impressive.

Where are the PS5 software? Is selling very well now but no PS5 game in the top 10 (FF last week)

It goes to show that people really were waiting on discounts for the game. Seeing the earlier entry discounted so heavily so many times definitely taught buyers to wait a few weeks and get the game half-price.

Has it been discounted in Japan?

I really doubt its 50% off in Japan where its published by NCL.
The price drops are happening in the west, where Ubisoft publishes it.

Man switch is a beast.
It's lovely how third parties still ignore it and the console sell like hotcakes.

Those evergreens dayum. MK hitting 5 million retail and Minecraft soon to be 3. M+R making itself known.

Good hardware numbers all around. S-tier rank for PS4 selling the exact same number week on week. Was hoping to see switch hit 28 million by year's end but close enough.

Solid numbers overall. Glad to see Rabbids doing better. I too waited for it this be reduced in price here (in the UK) because we all knew it was going to happen.

Not really since :

1. The original was not discounted in Japan since it is Nintendo published
2. The second entry didn't get any discount yet

It is just good WoM and the Mario IP carrying the game during the Holidays.

All games is having a nice plus with one sus title having -27% heh.^_^ Still, top 10 Switch title all is a bit surprising considering i thought Crisis Core at least PS4 should have shown up there on top 10.

I don't think the game is discounted at all in japan outside the usual 20% discount.

Hardware wise it's kind of a meh moment to end the year with.

Software wise? Wow at the legs of evergreens and SV.

I think this is the first all Switch top 10 in quite some time.

I wonder if Sony can keep up around a 70K baseline, or if they only have these units for the holidays.

The Xbox dream is dead.

This might be the last week 3DS is still been tracked.

Switch hw still high, but I was hoping for 200k
apart from that, very healthy software landscape on the Switch
Will there be anotehr chart for the year, or is the 4.8mil the final YtD hw number for the console?

The year is over for Famitsu.

Dec 26 - Jan 1 is Famitsu’s week 1 2023.

It will be funny because Famitsu’s week 2 2023 will have higher numbers than week 1, because week 2 covers New Year sales week.

Are japanese PS5 still exported to other countries? It's a bit sad it's selling well but there is not a single PS4/PS5 game in the top 10.
Yes, but it's worth noting resale prices have been quickly falling these last few weeks with the influx of decent amounts of hardware.

Number 10 is 20k, I don't know who expected a ps5 game out of bundled games really.
Also FFCC will never do 20k+ second week on ps5 (or any console for that matter), as it would be less than 60% drop (more or less) which is very unlikely.

more like the famitsu overtracking of Xbox is dead. The xbox dream likely never began, considering that at this point it's safe to say that xbox's Ltd numbers are much lower than those reported by famitsu . Certainly it is still doing much better than Xbox one, which is one of the worst consoles in history as sales in Japan... but we are still talking about very negative numbers in general, well below those of the first Xbox and especially those of X360

Crisis Core out of the top 10…
I hope we see all versions in the top 30!

Crisis Core to chart in the Top 10 would need a 62% weekly drop, which would be very rare and unlikely for a RPG.
The expected just happened.

Great legs for S/V, it is above B/W at retail launch aligned too.

Pretty impressive given the monstruous opening.

Pokemon really shows how strong that open world combo+ the multiplayer aspect.

If they can really perfect the next game with far better performance, more story intergration and far more stuff to do online together with friends. It will become one of the biggest game sales ever there.

Keeping in mind that we know Switch is over tracked by Famitsu this year, do you expect NSW 2023 to be up or down compared to 2017/2018?

I’m excluding 2019 as I don’t think there is a realistic chance Switch will show so little decline next year.

MK8D only just gotten Wave 3 TVCM this week, so I'm expecting strong legs for next several weeks.

Mario + Rabbids TVCM is at 6.1m views, about 200k more to overtake Ring Fit TVCM as highest CM-related video..

Not that Switch numbers are especially low, but I wonder if the Switch numbers we are seeing are not lower than hoped for because Famitsu is adjusting these numbers down a little this month due to prior overtracking, to be more in line with MC.

How big though, compared to PS4 in its third holiday season.

Series X stock in Japan is probably as bad as everywhere else.
Series S tracking from Famitsu is finally fixed, or just no demand at a non discounted price?

Switch is neither impressive nor bad.

Week 51 - 68.927 (+34%)
Week 52 - 121.173 (+76%)
TOTAL: 503.570

eShop Ranking it was #1 in October and #3 in November and so far in December:
  • Week 49 #5
  • Week 50 #4
  • Week 51 #3
  • Week 52 #3?
Looks like it will finish Top 3 for December on the eShop, only Scarlet / Violet have outsold it for the past three months. We do not know what this translates to across these three months but below are the possible breakdowns with around 750K physical sales for the period(1st of October - 25th of December):

30% digital ~321K
40% digital ~500K
50% digital ~700K

50% digital post-launch is the most unlikely scenario while 40% is what I would call the most likely outcome.
Nintendo will likely track two more weeks' worth of physical shipment + one more week of digital for their annual numbers. It does seem it will be shy of 7M but 6.5M is definitely within reach.

I don't know how big ,but I imagine it is very big.
I am seeing physical stores in my country that have ps5 available in good quantities which is something I haven't seen since it came out. My instagram and twitter feed is flooded with people who got PS5 as Christmas gifts. As I said I expect Sony to have distributed well over 6 million consoles this quarter

With a good potential 2023 lineup I think Switch can sell numbers like 2017/28, that means around +3.5 millions. Total LTD should be around +30 millions, nintendo shipments likely around 31 millions.

If Switch 2 comes out with Zelda TOTK, my expectation would be reduced to ~2 millions for 2023 and 1.5 millions for 2024

I think some of you are forgetting that Crisis Core came out on a Tuesday, so it will probably have an even bigger drop than average.
I'm personally expecting ~90% drop, so depending on the floor some of the SKUs might not even chart in the top 30.
