Well there goes the 200k average week hopes.

Also Horizon sneaking in there.

Not sure about how did Yugioh do compared to previous games.

Lmao at M+R sales, lower than anyone predicted. Despite ranking low in eshop and being a voucher game, I gave it a benefit of doubt that maybe it doesn't appeal to people that goes digital, and hence its physical might be higher.

Alas, big fat no.

Pokemon SV drop is much higher than SwSh(-28%) and is closer to BDSP(-54%)
Mario + Rabbids sales are significantly down from the first game
No version of Samurai Maiden in the top 10
Not very good software sales IMO...

Those are some nice small drops hardware and software wise. Smash getting a big boost. Switch Sports about to hit 800k retail. Way overpredicted M+R bleh. Pokemon about to take over Splatoon next week

Are PS4 suddenly en vogue again? It came back from the dead lately.

Disappointing launch for M+R. Same can be said about YGO.

Pokémon being above 300k is a good milestone, will be interesting to follow in the coming weeks.

Hardware is stable for Switch while next-gen stock varies a lot more.

I feel like you can't open that strongly and expect legs to follow, unless maybe if you're Animal Crossing. Later in the gen, we're bound to see more frontloaded games.

Hardware for switch is great being this old. The rest is not so great. Pokemon creeping up on Splatoon like it's nothing.

Evergreens are performing considerably worse compared to 2021. And I mainly hoped for Switch Sports to gain momentum, but that might happen a bit later with the bundle next week.

That's a rough launch for Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel: Dawn of the Battle Royale!! Let's Go! Go Rush!! Special Edition. The previous entry did 96K opening week, however this new version is essentially a "Get Started Fast" pack, unlocking 1 of each card immediately and allowing unlimited ranked duels per day, for a fully free to play release (with no mtx spend required) so expected it to do less than the previous, just not by that much of a gap.. especially given the included promo cards..

I think most people that want Mario + Rabbids know those games tend to drop prices with time so they are waiting.

HW not so hot and SW should be picking up the pace by now

Sword / Shield weekly drops won't be repeated from Scarlet / Versus and that was the expected, worse legs than S/S and better than BD/SP is what's happening so far and that should continue in the future.

PS5 will get rid of supply problem soon. RE4 week sound minor/mini/tiny/small/chiisana interesting.

I wish Mario + Rabbids numbers were better. Splatoon 3 and Pokemon sales are largely fantastic even though the weekly drops for the latter aren't perfect. BTW, is the Media Create monthly report supposed to be releasing soon?

Good overall numbers for Switch but is starting to be painfully obvious that they need to release new console to spark the software sales

Switch hardware a bit meh, hopefully next week we get 175k+. Evergreens are not getting much of a holiday bump so far and are performing much worse than 2021.

Percentages are a funny thing. When something sells 1 a week and then suddenly sells 2, that is a rise of 100% . When something sells 1000 a week and then sells 1010, that is a 1% rise. And yet, when push comes to shove, even ignoring how much more 1000 is than 1, 9 more somethings were sold than the other.

Which leads me to legs as defined by percentages. If we look at SV 3rd week percentage-wise, SV drop is bigger than SS. But by any other parameter, SV is doing better in its third week than all the other games Chris detailed. Both in its total, and in the actual number of units sold on the third week (SS was closest with ~276k vs SV's 310k).

Some wise poster once said that we are one Nintendo fuck-up away from an industry crash in Japan.

I'm not surprise since Go Rush doesn't seem to be as liked as Sevens.

I still would love to know how Rush Duel, the physical game, is doing in Japan. Clearly it's done well enough to get a second anime and another video game adapting it, but I wonder how long a second ygo card game can keep people invested.

I find it ironic the same week that Jim Ryan apologizes to Japan for lack of PS5 supply and says the issue has been addressed is the same week shipments dropped nearly in half. Just noticing the system is ahead YoY though so that's something.

Decent Switch sales and good hold for Pokemon and Splatoon 3 (-1%!). Shame about Mario+Rabbids. Hopefully digital makes up for it a bit.

Well, the PS5 supply is 14x greater compared to last year!

I think as of last week it's ahead of last year's full sales so it's all a bonus now even if ~1.2-3 million is still pretty meh overall. All eyes are on 2023.

I wonder why the decline was so big from Kingdom Battle, by all accounts it is a better game.

Famitsu Sales: Week 49, 2022 (Nov 28 - Dec 04)

Yes and no. Given how anime production works (a good production starts well over a year in advance and Go Rush show no signs of being rush) and how Sevens only lasting about two years, Go Rush was most likely green-lite the moment Sevens aired. So while Rush Duels in of itself seems to be doing well in Japan, the creation of Go Rush can't really be seen as an indicator of its success.

Oversaturation of Srpg genre this year? Or people are just waiting for discount considering how much discount Mario+Rabbids 1 get on Eshop.

I wonder if the xbox hardware is the new baseline Famitsu numbers, either that or they are really trying to stay as competitive as possible in the US and UK

while SV's percentage drop is higher, it's falling from a greater height, and is still ahead of SS. not too much doom and gloom here.

as for Switch hardware, crazy numbers for its age, but there is still some slowdown. this feels like the last holiday by its lonesome though
