Dragami Games has announced that Killer is Dead has official surpassed 1 million copies sold 12 years after the game originally came out. It originally released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in August 2013 with a PC version in May 2014.
 
Curious if any of the No More Heroes games have gotten to the 1 million number by now between all of the ports it's received over the years. Suda mentioned once that Lollipop Chainsaw and No More Heroes are the only franchises they ever did that continued to see solid sales legs and that it kept the lights on for them (Marvelous also highlighted positive sales of the Switch ports in one of their fiscal quarters), but out of the two series we only ever got a random Twitter PR for Lollipop's 1 million milestone, and that was well over a decade ago.
 
Really nice for them to announce this milestones... makes me wonder if this game is going to be their next game to get remastered like Lollipop chainsaw?

Give us Killer is Dead remastered on Switch and many other console babyyy
 
From that one leak years ago we know that the Steam version was at 547k on July 1st 2018, and, considering there's no current console versions, it's safe to assume almost all sales since then are on PC as well.
Must've done terribly on consoles.

Likely...I wonder why after Shadow of the Damned and Lollipop Chainsaw they didn't try to port also this one onto Switch
"portable" systems have always been commercially interesting for late ports

You can still play it on current Xbox systems.

Back then someone working in the retail sector told me the game sold above expectations in Italy. It released when piracy wasn't as widespread on DS and the game got nice niche marketing on magazines. Mind you, sales were in the thousaunds copies but still much more than what the publisher had expected (Rising Star maybe?) and more than games in the same genre without big IPs or publishers behind.
