Hypercharge has now sold over 100,000 units in under 1 month on Xbox

Hypercharge, Action Figure Shooter game seems to have been quite a success for the devs. With only 6 people, the game seems to have been selling on Xbox and garner a strong word of mouth.



The game also seems to have good legs too that now it hit top 8 most paid item on Xbox Digital Front.

Overall, really happy for the devs. More indie devs success is also nice to be celebrated especially with how brutal employment for big publisher in gaming industry.
 
I just found this story on Twitter/X and came here see if we had a thread about! I’m very glad they found success on Xbox! (also, they has been criticised for not be on Xbox Game Pass and some people was calling them Dead on Arive).

I’m excited for the numbers on Xbox’s platform! I hope they keep sharing new milestones!

Haha. U guys are fast. Tx for the help update there. But yeah. It seems the game is a good hit there on Xbox. If the legs is good. We can see it hitting 100k maybe after 2 weeks.

This really tells what audience Xbox has been building there for years.

I feel Xbox moving away from the shooters heavy focus has end up making them lost their foothold there. If a shooter indie game can be this successful. A proper Gears or Halo should be able to do great as well.

I think they should try a new Gears of War, or even a spinoff: same formula, new content... The story of sucess for this game, Hypercharge, is just amazing! I'm loving to see actual numbers and rankings! It's helping to understand a lot!

how has it done on switch?

all this hype is probably them taking advantage of the whole Xbox situation with games skipping it. like they get more exposure from touting "Xbox success!", especially with certain accounts still stumping for Xbox/MS for free

Pure Xbox did an interview with Joe Henson (Creative Gameplay & Marketing Director for Hypercharge Unboxed) last month, and he stated that Halo was a big influence for them growing up and that Xbox was their childhood console.

Pure Xbox: You've spoken a lot about your desire to put Hypercharge on Xbox - why were you so eager to bring the game to Microsoft's consoles?

Joe Henson: A big part of our excitement boils down to a couple of things: First off, we got our Xbox dev kits pretty early on (shoutout to Microsoft for the speedy delivery!). Plus, Halo had a huge influence on Hypercharge, especially when it comes to the movement mechanics. Xbox is basically the console of our childhood, you know? It’s also worth mentioning that we're planning to launch Hypercharge on PlayStation 4 and 5, hopefully by the end of this year - though I can't promise anything just yet!

I understand but the thing is that they game was released on PC and Switch years ago no? Why they did not release it on Xbox at launch?

That means the sales on switch is not that hot and the xbox release despite no gamepass is success for them. It is not that hard to understand.
