NSW sold ~160K (2.3% lower than June 2022, which was 21% higher than May 2022, which was ~135K).

PS5 should be 230-240K by my guess based on its YoY % increase.

I remember very clearly in the Street Fighter 6 sales thread having multiple people quote me when I dared to ask a guy to source his Street Fighter 6 claim of the "Steam version is performing really well while the traditional consoles versions are within the flop territory". The guy himself never responded (to his credit he knew he made a completely unverifiable claim), but I'm not shocked to see 60 percent of the EU SF6 launch sales on PlayStation just like I'm not shocked to see 66 percent of the digital Diablo sales on PC.

I believe Xbox being flat is actually a win of sorts for them, right? Four of the previous six months it's been down double digits, so flat would actually be a preferred result. Probably helped by their showcase last month, which they've said was their most watched ever.

I don’t think we should be going that direction, Data, speaks better than anything.

But it has been demonstrated that FF16 had a significant digital ratio, and that most multiplat games have high splits for the PS versions unlike a few people said.

Microsoft release a Diablo IV bundle in June.
This bundle give a big boost at Hardware sales during one week (even in Japan).
Without that it would have been another double digit decrease this month.

Oh yeah I remember, the Xbox version actually charted in the Top 10 in Japan thanks to this bundle. Yeah, so this is obviously the reason.

Yeah its looking like 60-70% of SF6 sales are Playstation, not surprised as its in line with several JP games and the FGC is big on Playstation.

Whats more surprising is how low XB is. Like 250K sold on XB.

Diablo 4 doing a lot of heavy lifting for the month it would seem, game did phenomenal.

I'm at work so can anyone grab and quote the Dring tweets on this report? They are quite informative snippets.

Across Europe, 15.5 million games were sold, which is up 20% year-on-year. This is mostly due to Diablo 4, which is the best-selling June game since the Europe charts began in 2017. It is the second-fastest selling game of the year behind Hogwarts
(However, if we had Zelda digital data, it may be the third fastest-selling game. Come on Nintendo, submit your data!)
66% of Diablo 4 sales were on PC, which isn't a surprise. 21% was on PS5, 9% on Xbox Series consoles and 4% on PS4. This is digital and physical sales data.
Across the four big new releases of the month (Diablo, Final Fantasy, F1 and Street Fighter), 80% of sales across Europe were via digital download platforms. But it varies greatly with each title. In fact, Final Fantasy 16 sold best as a physical product in Europe

So 160k estimate for June and 189k estimate for May but do we have an estimate for Switch for April? It was up 38% yoy, if we have last April's number or a April to May increase/decrease we can work out an estimate.

shouldn't have mattered much since it's what a 10 discount on the game? and not even a themed console. plus if you bought physical diablo you could resell.

hard to believe they arent even doing a starfield themed console. i have a buddy who buys every themed xbox (weird guy, also own multiple switch/vita/psp etc, doesnt like more powerful consoles because they exhaust a lot of hot air, buys the same games twice digitally and on disc simply so he doesnt have to swap discs because he doesnt have good internet to download them)

still guessing xbox sales depend a lot on how many x are in widely disseminated stock.

Switch for FYQ1 (April 1 - June 30, 2023) last year globally shipped 3.43 million.

UK - April : up 30% yoy May: up 28% yoy June: down 20% yoy
Europe - April: up 38% yoy May: 189k est. up 39% yoy June: 160k est. down 2% yoy
USA - April: No.1 in units May: No.1 in units and dollars June: N/A
JPN - April: 281k down 18k or 6% yoy May: 345k up 93k or 37% yoy June: 486k up 175k or 56% yoy

Note: European sales do not track the UK and Germany.

The data we do have suggests the Switch should be over 4 million for the quarter, the only reason it wouldn't be is if Nintendo overshipped considerably in the previous quarter. Switch total sales are currently 125.62 million so it would need to ship 4.38 million in FYQ1 to hit 130 million.

Themed consoles are dead this generation.

For Xbox and Playstation i mean

Console hardware sales cover Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Accessories sales cover the same markets, but doesn't include Switzerland.

Is this a mistake from the article? Because without UK and Germany it's a significant miss.

In Europe (excluding UK/DE) specifically, Switch sales during Apr-Jun 2023 were higher than in 2021 too. I think only 2020 may be higher.

*note I don't know how or if this released

Its a promotional item for a contest. Microsoft has like 100 of these

Isn't Starfield getting a XSX edition?

Nothing announced outside of the controller and headset

I definitely think there will be PS5 Spider-Man edition….but I guess we will see in a couple of months.

Insomniac said on twitter there won’t be.

Edit—-

They said there won’t be a limited edition controller for pre-order.

Actually Diablo 4 has done well on XBOX, other 2 multiplatform games ratio is like 80-20 while Diablo 4 is 70/30. Exclusively bundles along with marketing seem to have worked.

That has always been the case for some reason.

Also the install base is like 80:20 in the EEA, no?

Welp. I guess we got that answer.

Let's end our #SDCC panel with one final surprise: the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition Console Bundle arrives September 1, 2023!

#SpiderMan2PS5 #BeGreaterTogether

Welp. I guess we got that answer.

ahah a good catch….
That is a fancy console.
What i find interesting is that it does not seem to be the rumored slim PS5 (the one where is possible to attach a disc drive)…or it could still be it and the new slim console will look just like the digital original ps5 but in black?
edit:
i looked it up and the console in question is the original ps5 digital or with disc.
it is also possible to buy the plates for the console and the controller separately.
After what TOTk switch has done to the switch sales, this could be big…..

kinda makes me wonder if ps5 slim/no disc was delayed or even actually exists tbh.

yes i understand they will have a form factor revision at some point. especially with the size of ps5.

IMO didn't do well if split is still big and especially if it is Xbox marketed game and also Xbox has a bigger presence in Europe than in Japan for example

the hype for spider-men is pretty outrageous. Trailer is at 1.5m views already

Trailer already has over 4 mil. views

Gap in install base is bigger than 70/30, so Diablo IV did well for the Xbox reality in Europe.

I’m still very confused about the whole Installbase thing, in a game released in June 2023 on PS5 Installbase didn’t matter and with other it does.

Anyway, Xbox Series Installbase is not low in the UK, and possibly not that bad in Germany, the other countries I would agree that is low.

Xbox reality? What is that, some new term? If so, then standard is very low to be considered something on Xbox sold well.
IMO Diablo 4 on XS didn't do well. Diablo is a mainstream franchise, Diablo 3 on X1 had much better split in Europe vs. PS4 with similar install base vs. XS.

Different things. Install base in june 2023 isn't much a limiting factor of how well a game can launch in absolute numbers because the PS5 base is already big enough.

In the case of Diablo IV the comparission is the proportional sales on Playstation x Xbox, so install base always matter.

Do you have a source for this claim that Diablo 3 had "much better" split for X1 in Europe?

It's just a fact that the 70/30 split for Diablo IV shows healthy proportional performance on Xbox because the gap in install base is even bigger.

Doesn't mean the actual number is good, just that compared to Playstation performance was proportionally better.

Maybe one of the PAL charts...... From GAF back. I remember that Diablo 3 split for X1 was waaaay bigger for it vs. XS. Split was almost 50:50 or something like that. Even individually X1 version charted in Germany, France, Italy. So, i can assume Diablo 3 sold good on Xbox at least in biggest markets compared to PS4. That's a good split then, not with Diablo 4 on XS.

D4 selling 50:50 would mean that the Xbox version is selling at least twice as good as the Playstation version. That's an unrealistic standard for considering something a "good" split.

X1 was also at bad spot back then across Europe.
