Looking at how things are going my guess now is that they're gonna miss their target by 3-4 million unless they suddenly rock us with a massive deal or some unexpected markets sell massive numbers of consoles... which seems unlikely.
Q2 is often the lowest. At least with the Switch. Not sure wether that's also the case with Playstation. The only way that would work is if their Q4 exceeds the one of last year which I dont see happening. Also arent Q4 sales usually the lowest out of all the quarters?
I think Something like this for Q3
NA - 3.3M
EU - 4.4M
JP - 0.8M
Other - 1.3M
Total - 9.8M

Amids rumors from Taiwan that Sony is going to halve the production rate for PS5 (and that Microsoft will outright stop the production of Xbox Series for the quarter), it was just announced a €75 price cut for PS5 Slim (disc drive) valid until February 25th in major retail chains in Italy and I suppose across Europe (at least it is in France).
The deal is already online on Amazon IT and FR and other chains.
Might be the latest nail in the coffin to the 25m dream. I expect Sony to cut down their hardware forecast in two days, by at least a couple of millions.Amids unconfirmed news from Taiwan that Sony is going to halve the production rate for PS5 (and that Microsoft will outright stop the production of Xbox Series for the quarter), it was just announced a €75 price cut for PS5 Slim (disc drive) valid until February 25th in major retail chains in Italy and I suppose across Europe (at least it is in France).

Promos only. They likely have a deal in June for Days of Play. Will they beat around the bush till the holidays or do a proper price cut in the first half of the year?
They were planning to sell 25m by the next quarter right? I guess this discounts are still the part of 25m?Might be the latest nail in the coffin to the 25m dream. I expect Sony to cut down their hardware forecast in two days, by at least a couple of millions.
Q1+Q2: 8.2 M
Q3: 8.2 M
Total of 16.4M
20M is hard right now
Wasn't the last Q4 an exception? Isn't it the quarter that the stock problems are solved? Why is 20M hard? If they match last Q4 they'll be at nearly 23M...unless I'm missing something here.
Ah yes you're right. Doubt they'll match that, but not sure how much lower they'll end up selling.Wasn't the last Q4 an exception? Isn't it the quarter that the stock problems are solved?
And The recent Asian shipment reduction news(or leak?)
This means Sony plans to ship 4.6M PS5s during CYQ1 2024. Seems doable but still won't be easy - maybe they are planning some price activity in the coming weeks.21m is new target now.
