Press releases for TGS with severall informations:

Somehow, I fear the "new format" will involve getting rid of the shipment data : /

But glad to hear the White Paper is back.

It should be note that price is way higher than usual.

It's now close to Media Create/Famitsu White Books while it used to cost way less.

I wonder what justify this increase.

Hey at least is back, for a while I thought this resource was going to be gone forever, let’s hope the changes are for good, but if not, at least something is better than nothing.

Less data for more money would fit with how a lot of products have changed the past few years...

But I hope they at least keep what they had been doing before.

I hope we can get more data from this! We'll just have to see in December.

Glad it's coming back! I just hope that it still has sales data. Considering how it will cost more, I'd imagine that they'd still have sales data, and maybe even have more data. That being said, you never know these days lol. We'll find out soon enough though!

Good sign it is coming back (in less than 3 months too!) and curious/anxious about the new format.

Mandatory @Marth ping 😊

Thank you very much for the ping, I would have missed it otherwise because life is really busy at the moment.
Finally my collection can grow again, very curious how the new edition is going to look like.

Looking at table of contents they seams to have removed shipments data from manucturer (Nintendo, Bandai Namco, etc...).
So it's over for update sales of Nintendo games.

That's a big disapointement as it was the major interesting thing from CESA White Paper.

Overall doing the comparison it's a weaker report than Famitsu White Paper for the same price...

Will we get USA and EU hardware data?

Will we get USA and EU hardware data?

Translated:
The data includes data on market size and sales status by platform (home, PC, and mobile) in each region and country around the world, user trends in Japan, employment population and recruitment trends, and comparisons with other content industries.
So yes? If it is the same way they reported it the past few years.

Where is the 2023 table of contents for comparison?

That's dissappointing. Now we will probably never know how much games like Fire Emblem three houses, Engage, Xenoblade, Metroid etc sold in total.

Shrinkflation hitting CESA is crazy.

Yep. Man I wish things were like the movie industry, but that is an outlier among entertainment.

Any chance this is just an oversight? Quite the bummer if we can't even get our yearly shipmentavanganza.

I emailed CESA directly, and they confirmed that there were no shipment figures for this book.
Rough translation :
"There is no continuity with previous years' editions.
The software as a whole is listed as sales, so there is no figure for the number of shipments.
Only packaged software is published as quotes from other industry reports."

Hm! So where does all that leave us? Is it simply the end of even slightly accessible long-term sales data for publishers like Nintendo?
We can try to ask Nintendo directly for updates.

Who known ? Maybe they can give figures without going through CESA.

Praying for another leak like the one that happened last summer.
