Comparing the Minecraft and Mario movies, Mario is definitely seeing much better weekday holds.

Mario's 2nd weekend was $92M, which is one of the Top 10 domestic 2nd weekends of all time. Minecraft won't go that high, but I think $70-80M is in the cards.

If the Zelda movie does well, it’ll be interesting to analyze where Detective Pikachu went wrong, and if they’ll try a Pokémon movie again (there was a rumor that a Netflix show was in development but I don’t know if that’s gone anywhere).

I think Pokémon is an interesting subject because it is indeed massive, but you also have to consider TPCI invests A LOT into animation, a Minecraft movie is an event for its audience because there was never a piece of media quite like that. Pokémon gets 50 new anime episodes and two spin-off side series on YouTube/Netflix every year + the occasional one-off animation ala Bidoof Journey almost every year. It needs something special to push people to go to the movies.
