Black Friday: how aggressive will they be ?

@ItWasMeantToBe19 Did you think you were in a different thread or something? You might want to post that in a different thread where it has actual relevance and not a thread talking about Black Friday deals.

I'm talking about how there's no PSVR2 deals this Black Friday, I was reminded of this by the ads for the new Meta Quest.

Much better PS5 deals in Europe than US.
Sony must have data that the US is not as price sensitive .
Will also want to speed up the european PS4-PS5 conversion.

I think the inventory of the old model must be bigger there. Slim isn't being launch in 2023.

PS5 is ahead of PS4 in both Japan and the US. (and those territories, that got PS4 later like China, India)
In Europe, PS5 is still way behind PS4

Some of these bundles don't make sense, its cheaper to buy SM2 and PS5 separately. Unless one want digital copy.

It’s about the same price. But bundles will make sense when the standalone go out of stock and users don’t have any other option.

Looks like Slim is releasing next month in EU

Any source for this?

Amazon Australia has the Slim to be released on December 6th here.

Starting November 18

[XBS] Series X: $449
[XBS] Series S Starter Bundle: $249

What's interesting is the Series X bundles. Microsoft already has them at $499 as an official price, so those are also going down to $449?

Fairly standard/tepid discounts. Good to see something official and starting soon though. and i suppose, the first real cut on series x/ps5 major hardware (afaik PS5 has had bundle deals etc, but not 50 off)

Not sure what I was wanting, I suppose 199 Series S or something wild (considering they touched on that last year, but not widespread), but honestly thats not realistic in todays inflated component prices world.

The series x game bundles, well on Amazon are not seemingly being marketed by Amazon at all and are not in top 100, along with having that weird 500.99 price point that suggest they are not standard/marketed. But I guess I should be careful not to overly focus on amazon.

Now to wait and see how that 50 off Series X performs. or if any greater discounts may come.

for the game sales, i'm not that interested in most games these days but not seeing much interesting either. mainly this holiday i think i'm just interested in sonic superstars. the xbox list had it around 50 for some plus edition. considering at least wal mart has the base edition slated for 40 on 11/22 i'll go that way. last yr i believe sonic frontiers hit 20 on bf so i was hoping for a repeat, but prices appear higher across the board. just read a news article about how consumers appear cautious this holiday based on weak october retail sales. i think retailers are cautious too.

i dunno call me crazy but i feel like diablo iv is not the most family friendly bundle xbox could have chosen. seems to be their main holiday bundle though.

found the best deal yet on sonic superstars, 34.99 bf at target

what's the most casual and/or family friendly game MS has in their stable right now? their options are quite limited

They also have the Forza bundle, but I think Diablo IV is the more attractive in value because it's not on gamepass (yet).

Just got the Sony TV ad spot (UK) with the premises of the most common deal. Wonder if I get anything from Xbox, but doubt it.

I hope we get the BF week insight we used to get for the UK. It's going to be interesting.

Amazon tracking would always be less representative this week but it's going to especially be the case this time as the best deals are all elsewhere.

$449 Series X Bundle with $75 Target gift card is the only noteworthy deal so far in the US, out of all consoles and platforms.

Anedoctal, here in Brazil:

- Xbox Series S 512GB MSRP is R$3599,90.
- PS5 Fat with disc drive Black Friday offer on Amazon Brazil is R$3.440,90.

Extremely aggressive pricing here in Finland for PS5 during this black friday (especially as normally consoles are bit more expensive here compared to the rest of EU). I have seen as low as 399€ for standard phat disc PS5 and 449€ for Spider-Man/FC 24 bundles. On the other hand MS has nothing for Xbox (which is weird). Nintendo has the usual Mario kart bundle for 349€.

Edit. Seems MS is skipping black friday and starts their promotions during Monday (439€ for Series X and 209€ for Series S).

Looks like Best Buy expect the $449 Series X to sell well. They've brought back the "High Demand Product" right before the sale.

Technically Black Friday is next Friday so MS isn't skipping it 😉
I wanted to make a joke earlier about how it feels like Black Friday but I didn't eat my turkey yet, but I guess it isn't a joke anymore...

Walmart
[XBS] $439 Series X + Diablo 4
[XBS] $249 Series S Starter Bundle

Best Buy wins Black Friday

[XBS] $399 Series X + $50 gift card if Total member

It's Xbox One era again with massive deals. This should move a significant amount of hardware after the bad holiday Xbox had in 2022.

Best Buy gift card isn't like cash as target and waltmart, but that's still the best deal.

Now we have to wait and see what stock Microsoft did provide.

Been that way since launch, it was just limited to the Series S because of X stock. Now we are getting the same kind of deals across the while product lineup.

Still good to see them competing again though, the gap between them and the competition was increasing by a lot in the first 9 months of the year.

Yes, Xbox had some deals throughout this year. Anyway, today's list ( for now2 )

Target for some reason won't list PS5 consoles despite selecting bestsellers, but only Xbox consoles :

[XBS] [Walmart] $449 Series X

[XBS] [Walmart] $439 Series X Diablo 4 Bundle

[XBS] [GameStop] $509 Series X Forza Horizon 5 Bundle
[XBS] [GameStop] $449 Series X
[XBS] [GameStop] $449 Series X Diablo 4 Bundle
[XBS] [GameStop] $249 Series S Starter Bundle

[XBS] [Amazon] $449 Series X
[XBS] [Amazon] $239 Series S Starter Bundle

Amazon and GameStop are easily the worst overall, but at least Amazon has the cheapest Series S of the big 5 retailers. BJ beats it with the $219 Starter Bundle. Target, Best Buy, then Walmart are the top 3 to pick from.

Dragon Quest Treasures is discounted to 9,99€ in Germany at different retailers. It was outsold immediately on Amazon.

I believe the Series S 1TB for U$299,90 should have higher profit margin than the U$249,90 512GB Series S. Wonder why no deals for the first one.

Didn't you answer your own question? LOL. Since the added storage only costs them a couple bucks, IMO they should just ditch the 512GB model, and the 1TB model should be priced as the 512GB. IIRC it has like 360GB space after OS, that's literally like 2 big COD size games. Maybe 3. for an all digital unit storage takes on added importance.

Not that manufactorers dont always do this. That's like asking Apple to stop overcharging for the 512GB iPhone. Not going to happen. Still, it would be nice from an armchair perspective.

I expect close month between Series and PS5 in USA looking at deals. Doubt Sony will drop below $499 but who knows. Maybe they will to clear old stock.

Sony need $449 console only deal as many people will not be interested in SM2 or MW3.

Black Friday deals from all manufacturer are very agressive this year compared to last years.

Some others deals we have in France:

20231118-202544.jpg

20231118-152917.jpg

Xbox in front page of Auchan flyer is a good thing.

Keeping my eye on any deals for the PS5 although I'm still not sure how much I'd use it

Also debating this tab I have open of SMTV for $20 on Best Buy's site

Playstation 5 deals in Europe are amazing, maybe because they want to clear stock of the old model, but still, with this kinda of deals could be hard to move more units at the standard price later. PS5 is having discounts in EU since the mid year.

In US Sony is being way more modest.
