Black Friday and Cyber Monday Sales Watch & Discussion Thread

Looks like Series S moved up in rankings quite a bit on Amazon UK after the price drop to £189.

Before price drop
November #33
YTD #33

After price drop
November #14
YTD #23

And it's still #1 in hourly sold right now and they still have stock. Amazon UK must've received tons of stock.
Massive jump in one day and it's still going. Series S is definitely made for this kind of scenario.

And yeah I was expecting much better PS5 supply than what we're seeing right now.

Xbox Series S price drop and Switch bundle for black Friday in France.

Meanwhile, Jim Ryan is selling PS5s at 449 / 549 (if you are lucky) lmao
I am really hoping for a very strong Series S performance this holiday in most countries, would help to kick Sony back into gear. The price hike was such a shit move.

How would a good series S performance cause Sony to lower the price? Isn’t the supply the issue and not the price? Unless I’ve missed it and PS5 can now be found on shelves across Europe.

Supply is less of an issue all the time and according to Sony won't be an issue going into the next fiscal year. Besides, even if supply was an issue then there'd still be people waiting and holding off for a PS5, but then when seeing a cheap Series S they may decide not to wait.

Anyway, by saying "would help kick Sony back into gear" I was purposely not targeting anything specific, more making a general comment that Sony would hopefully have to be more careful about losing market share and would be nudged to be
more consumer friendly in whatever way that would manifest. That could be addressing any of the advantages xbox have (cheaper games, day 1 on sub service, cheaper console etc.).

Series S is now #10 for november, in UK Amazon best sellers.
Decent.
I wonder if the new PS5 bundles will make it into the top 2022 seller on Amazon.com
That would give us some indication of massive stock. For the UK, that is out of question.

US really seems to get the vast majority of stock. Europe isn't much better than last year. Of course there is still the end of this week and December.

The Forbidden West bundle is currently #44 ytd on US Amazon.
No bundles ytd on UK Amazon so far. But PS5 only sku is #29 ytd.

Uk monthly chart: upto 10th from 14th
Uk yearly chart: upto 20th from 23rd
Uk daily chart: still 1st

Last November, in the Amazon UK charts, series s was 7th (11th for the year). Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Amazon FR monthly: 43rd from 47th

Amazon US monthly the GoW bundle is still 6th and normal one is 9th but daily its just the GoW bundle at 68th now (was in the 40's yesterday). Last year the disc sku was 10th for the month.

Is there anything like wayback machine working on amazon best sellers charts?

Yeah im talking about the new GoW Bundles.
During the PS4 era those new holiday bundles immediately shot up in the yearly chart after huge black friday sales.

A little Series S stock tracking:

From what I see Sony sent more stock in the week of Gow than in this week.....it seems very strange...

ps5 had at least 10 stock drops that week, and this week it has drops very occasionally.

while series x sold out at best buy and walmart over the weekend and on monday there was new stock together with the series s holiday edition pack.

target and amazon run out of stock of series s daily and restock again, I think Ms will have a very good Christmas that would have been brilliant with stardfield...

Monthly now up to #7, yearly up to #17. Still in stock and still #1 in the regular best sellers chart.

Its certainly not selling at the speed of big BF deals of the past, but it is selling very well and is still going strong. Could well break into the yearly top 10 by the time the offer ends.

I've noticed they've been constantly getting restocks. There's been a bunch of times where the stock went down to 1, only to have plentiful stock again later on. This has happened numerous times now.

I managed to snag a great deal on a Launch Edition Switch copy of Persona 5 Royal for CAD$45 at GameStop. Score! Amazon.ca had the standard release for CAD$40 before it sold out, but I think GameStop still has P5R on for CAD$45 and will honour that price for the Launch Edition if your local store still has copies of that.
On top of the listed Nintendo games in the OP being on sale, Nier Automata NSW is on for CAD$40 (A.ca, GameStop), Cowabunga Collection is CAD$30 (A.ca, BB, Walmart, GameStop) and 13 Sentinels was CAD$40, but it's currently sold out on all the online stores.

sales of series s are being crazy in europe, but especially in the united states, how clumsy is MS with first party releases damn.....they never manage to do everything right.

in 2021 they didn't have consoles but they did have halo and FH5, this year it's the other way around hahaha

It seems incredible that they are the 2 most powerful company in the world

the x series are running out everywhere, I hope MS replenishes it, although BF has been around for many days and best buy, gamestop, target and amazon are sold out...

By the way, from Europe, Happy Thanksgiving to those of you who are from the US.

Yeah, these first two years for Microsoft/Xbox have been a roller coaster. Let's see if they can right the ship in 2023. And it's always great to hear from people who live outside the US, to get their personal feedback on how the consoles are performing outside US.

I know Europe doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving, but happy Thanksgiving to you guys anyway!

In 2023 Microsoft will have games and stock all year long. We'll have a pretty good understanding about Series X|S demand and market reception after that. PS5 will still have shortages here and there, but stock will greatly improve, too and the console won't be hard to find anymore. Over 30m already got their console and the next 20m will be available for purchase

I can't think a serious contender in the console market history with a lackluster lineup like Xbox Series. These first two years were really bad.

I have a Series X, great machine, gamepass is amazing, but the first party lineup is just sad.

Xbox's 2022 surely has to be the most dire year for a first party publisher ever, I wouldn't know any other contenders off the top of my head.

Series X really is great as a game pass machine, but even GP this year has felt worse than the past couple of years, probably due to the lack of first party releases.

Microsoft should really be focusing on high quality and Nintendo-like polished games, so it's taking so long.

The lack of 1st party, AAA titles has hurt Xbox and Game Pass this year, no doubt. But for me, personally, I think it's been a great year for Game Pass. I play more indie games than AAA games and in terms of indie games, Game Pass has delivered for me this year. But I know I'm the minority, and hopefully, 2023 is the start of consistent, quality 1st party, AAA titles from Microsoft.

November looking strong for Xbox. I wonder if the new bundle (Fortnite + Rocket League + Fall Guys) will also get deals.

Series S and Amazon UK update

Uk monthly chart: staying at 7th
Uk yearly chart: upto 16th from 17th (probably going to stick around here based on the items above but think it should get to 15th cause that's a Elden Ring launch edition game)
Uk daily chart: still 1st

More notable. The Series X is sold out on Amazon.co.uk for the first time since months.

15th on the yearly chart now however it looks like the Series S is sold out so it likely won’t rise on the rankings anytime soon unless they restock

Not sure for how long but Walmart has been price matching the Series S to $239

A robot hoover.

A bunch of cheaper games on xbox digitally but nothing big.

Saw, it would have been interesting to see what it could have done with full stock but ehh.

Top products purchased on the shopping holiday included the Xbox Series X, toys for a children's cartoon character called "Bluey," Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, drones, and MacBook computers. Most shoppers bought an average of two to three items per purchase.

Just Amazon but it seems like a lot of people looking to jump on that Splatoon train this Holiday season. Might be the IP that a lot of new Switch owners are looking to try out first.
