I don't think so, launch is heading to be 50%+ stronger than Awakening's.

Preorders on Amazon look very strong everywhere.

Speaking of... Amazon.ca had 1K+ sold in the past 30 days back in mid-July, it stayed there the entire time until jumped to 2K+ a week ahead of launch, and 2 days after launch it's jumped to 5K+. So it has almost assuredly doubled its very high (for Amazon.ca) pre-order volume in the first 2 days on sale.
Seems the blue shell ain't going anywhere.

If it performs like a sequel, there is a good chance it just ends up more frontloaded than Link’s Awakening. But it’s a bit too early to say either way methinks.

Game is very good though so I’m sure it’ll do just fine either way.

Based on my extremely limited and anecdotal experience, I think this game's word of mouth will be very good. As someone who's not good at doing the actual tracking and can only go off a combination of what I read on this forum and vibes: the vibes are righteous

They only do that for their heavy hitters - especially this late in the cycle i wouldnt expect this kind of PR no more.

Besides the performance, the game has been fantastic, it's truly feels like old school Zelda plus BOTW/TOTK era.

Adding to this, we are 2 weeks post-launch and the game just jumped from 6K+ to 7K+ sold on Amazon.ca today. So at least in Canada, there’s notably good post-launch momentum.
