Amazon.com Sales Tracker (US and International Markets)

Regular PS5 and PS5 with EA FC 24 went straight to #1 and #2 on amazon UK best sellers with the BF sales but stock seems shakey. Regular PS5 is out of stock and the FC 24 bundle is flipping in and out of stock.

Most selling videogames (in general) in Amazon México. I really would like know how much important is México for Xbox, because it wouldn't surprise me the market here is quite balanced, maybe with Xbox leading a bit. Shame we don't get numbers from NPD/Circana.

series s holiday starter pack finally hit the top 100, #98. two xbox sku's in the top 100 for the first time in weeks? 3k sold.

should do better once it hits 249 soon.

Those poor fools, buying it right before it drops to $249. 😞

series s starter pack on amazon drops to 239! even ten less than expected. So far still at 3k, #81. meanwhile right this second x is again unavailable although these unavailable stretches have been short lived lately.

Amazon always disappoints when it comes to Xbox supply, but it also looks bad on Microsoft. They still can't ship enough for the holidays regardless of retailer? Nintendo and Sony do not have this problem.
I'm pretty sure this is an Amazon specific thing, maybe a struggle over margins.
Same with PS5 on Amazon.uk, where all major holiday skus are sold out most of the time.

I remember last gen PS4 stock issues were pretty much the norm on Amazon. I kinda wondered if thats just the normal state for Amazon, and the outlier is in fact PS5 the last few months that Sony has flooded so many stock units that even Amazon cant keep them out of stock, or something.

I'm honestly also wondering if after that leaked P&L slide showing Phil seemingly a bit concerned about hardware losses, and perhaps a change in strategy to demphasize hardware in favor of gamepass (or something) if Xbox LITERALLY has sort of a cap on hardware production/shipments. And dont produce or ship more on purpose. Although that seems unlikely. And also I dont watch other retailers than Amazon a ton to see how theyre faring for stock.

at the end of the day it's a big shrug. who knows. both series S and X unavailable on amazon as i write this.

at least i noticed ms seemingly really brought their A game again this bf (at least it seems). getting that xbox holiday mojo back (we'll see in npd, but the deals are aggressive).

Also, AFAIK the 3 months gamepass bundle, I dont remember MS bundling 3 months gamepass before. And that S seems to be doing well. Maybe a effective tool for them. A lot of times I wonder if gamepass is too confusing for consumers. It confuses me and I live this stuff. They have about 4 tiers I think. TBH they need to condense that to one or at most 2 IMO. preferably one. but corporations gonna corporate. The tier that's just some games and no online play, that one is really pointless. But anyway maybe the 3 months free helps alleviate some confusion. Like grandma thinking "hey whatever this is I dont need to worry about it I'm covered for 3 months".

I'm sure there are lots of Switch games that would jump if they were priced 75% off.
Especially when they are exclusive games featuring Mario. Mario games with that sort of discount are usually unheard of.

The previous game also was pushed hard on big discounts. I guess it's like a secret weapon for Ubisoft to be able to discount Mario games.

This game went from 10k to 90k in 40 hours.
Insane!

It passed 100K+. Looks like it could outsell Wonder on Amazon US in November as long as it remains $15-20 during Black Friday week.

(Kinda goes to show how much more software could be sold on Nintendo platforms if they were more aggressive with their game pricing.)

If Nintendo was this agressive with pricing they would struggle to sell their new games at full price. A 60 dollars Mario game would compete with deep discounted ones. It's a balancing act.

MK8DX bundle is at 30K+ now.
Mario Kart 8 bundle is #83 in the 2023 Top 100.

September: +5K
October: +20K
With it just passing 30K and removing October sales that would be part of this, I'd estimate November has sold +22K so far, meaning a pace of +1K a day. That should be growing over the next few days.

granted it would still be losing heartily, but everytime xbs gets some momentum on amazon it runs out of stock.

currently no xbox sku in top 100 due to this.

Mario Wonder is appearing on a lot of "frequently bought together" lists for older games/accessories.

Series X not showing as strong immediate sales as PS5 did on UK amazon with it only being at #4 as of now but stock seems to be lasting much better.

Edit: Before the first update following the start of the BF deals, the yearly chart has Series S at #79 and X at #80, monthly has Series X at #77 and Series S not on the chart.

More detail on the monthly. PS5 has the regular at #11 and 7k+ sold last month (out of stock now but last I checked), EA FC bundle at #32 with 3k+ sold last month, MW3 bundle at #46 (likely 2k+ sold last month). I think the best sellers chart definitely overly rewards a big immediate spike in sales rather than better prolonged sales. Series X is already up to 7k+ sold for the last month and I don't think it had any spike in late august, so may well jump straight ahead of PS5 on the monthlies later.

Going to mark here that Mario Wonder is still at 100K+ after whatever refreshes happened. I'll think about what that can tell us about its sales in the morning.

It is starting to lose the launch sales so I think the 200k+ ship has sailed (for now).

Amazon Uk looks like opposite of USA rn lol. Xbox domination and PS nerfed/ranked lower due to all major PS SKU's being unavailable.

series x at 9k (yet the usa x couldnt top 20k before consistently running dry of stock) and s at 2k. so x constantly dominates s at amazon in both uk and USA, yet in drings tweets it was basically clear S outsold X as a whole in UK in October (X was the top selling individual Xbox SKU by a very small amount according to Dring, but the S was the next two SKU's (third being the 1TB S), meaning added they surely topped X).

I refuse to believe S sells that well anywhere, so I guess it's fluctuating X stock at actual UK brick and mortar retail causing S to keep pace in October.

Series S was the best selling SKU on Amazon Brazil before de price increase. Don't know the size of brazilian market.

It's always been the case. Series S is easier to produce and ship. Even assuming equal wafer allocation, you get more SS's for your dollar

First day of Xbox series bf deals on Amazon UK:

Sold Last Month
Series X 9k+
Series S 2k+
X D4 bundle 700+

Monthly ranking
Series X #22 (up 55)
Series S #80 (new)

Yearly ranking
Series X #60 (up 20)
Series S #73 (up 6)

Won't be easy for Xbox to beat last years UK numbers. IIRC last november Series S was #1 for an entire week on Amazon.uk
Amazon ranking yes, but overall Black Friday week sales for Xbox were low last year.
Same for Sony.

Just the 8th biggest BF week out of 10. Only PS5 and Xbox Series launch was worse.
Xbox will (have to) beat last year. Playstation most likely, too.

I just meant that the Amazon rankings in the UK don't indicate Xbox being up YoY. But maybe the sales at brick and mortar stores will be better, who knows. Gotta wait for next months report.

Playstation should be up significantly YoY though. Isn't their October 2023 already close to Nov 2022?

but S always tended to sell poorly. look at amazon usa and uk rankings (Amazon UK, Series X 9k sold Series S 2k sold, Amazon USA until both fell out of top 100 due to no stock recently, X always well ahead of S in sold and rankings), series s is nowhere close to x whenever both are in stock around MSRP. heck you can back to before the generation began when X preorders quickly sold out while S preorders never did. Or the real damner was last holiday where MS went all in with S, it was freely available everywhere for 249 and sometimes 199, (while X and PS5 stock remained skimpy) and Xbox had it's worst holiday in many years, nearly disastrous.

Regardless how "easy" to produce it is (maybe because of!, yet not easy enough they can price the 1TB below 349) S demand has just never really been there...this is not new this gen. the Series S 249 gamepass bundle was rising well on Amazon USA before it OOS, but really to early to declare much and it only had IIRC 3k sold when it vanished, so the sheer volume wasnt there yet. Xbox brass like to tout S outsold X, it's what they are strongly biased towards hoping would happen, but they neglect to mention I doubt theres a case where X wasnt heavily supply impeded. Heck even Japan, the race appears to be tightening towards X. And if theres one market WW made for S, it would be Japan IMO (small size, cheap price in a very uphill market=easier to sell as second or third console to existing switch/ps owners). The thing is to this day you cannot reliably go in a store and just buy a X, at least where i live. So supply is not equal between the two.

To go back on topic: X/S still OOS on amazon US, wth? That seems to be some reasonably significant sales Xbox is ceding now heading into a big BF week.

it's not like MS wants the Series S to sell better, they lose money on it after all. but during covid, the Series S propelled itself ahead because of its ease of production. if Dring said that the SS outsold the SX, it's probably true because there's just more supply to go around. Amazon isn't the only store out there, after all. but with Xbox cratering in interest, there's probably not a whole lot of stock of anything because stores aren't ordering poor selling systems

I think anyone who can should watch other departments as well during the next week. It would be nice to know for certain that things can hit 200K+

Amazon will be very misleading regarding console sales, especially in markets like Spain or the UK.

All big retailers in the UK and Spain seem to have plenty of stock available of standalone PS5 and Bundle consoles.

November European numbers could be something else

Edit: Amazon US shows Niche-man 2 slim bundle at 20k and the MW3 Slim Bundle at 10k.

Very and Game are sold out of bundles now. Standalone in low stock according to Very too. Argos still seems to have stock.
I think series x will be the top selling console in UK this month if ps5 continues to be out of stock imo 🤔

Second day of Xbox series bf deals on Amazon UK:

Sold Last Month
Series X 10k+ (from 9k+ yday, was 9k+ when I went to sleep about 9hrs ago so I don't think it'll be much higher than 10k)
Series S 2k+ (no change)

Monthly ranking
Series X #18 (up 4)
Series S #75 (up 5)

Yearly ranking

Have to say I'm not overly impressed by the performance so far but its certainly not doing badly. PS5 is at #14, #49 and #63 for the month despite poor stock (currently all out of stock on amazon). If xbox is behind on amazon at the end of the month I expect it will be a decent step behind for the UK as a whole.
