Japan: Nintendo to stop accepting foreign credit cards and PayPal accounts on Nintendo eShop
Nintendo just announced a change impacting payment methods on the Nintendo eShop and the My Nintendo Store in Japan. Starting March 25th, you will no longer be able to use foreign credit cards or PayPal account opened outside Japan to buy anything. Only credit cards issued in Japan, and PayPal accounts created in Japan, will be accepted. Of course, pre-paid eShop cards will still be useable, as this isn't a full region-lock.

Officially, this is to prevent 'fradulent use" of the eShop / Store.

Now this won't be news to most people around here seeing that tons of foreign credit cards are banned already, but up until now, said cards COULD still be used if your country of residence didn't have its own eShop. From March 25th, this will change and ALL foreign cards will be banned, regardless of whether there's a Nintendo eShop in your country or not.

Not sure if same policy will apply to other regions or not.
