None of this is relevant to what Turkey is talking about?
He's talking about sales before 2008. You're talking about stuff after 2008.

I'm not sure where you found your pre-2008 average, because One Piece had 140M units in circulation for volume 1-48 (all the volumes released before 2008), which is the 2.9M average Turkey was talking about. And that's circulation, not sales.

Sorry i thought they are talking about LTD sales of 1-48 volumes which gives the average i was talking.

Your numbers are wrong and you seem confused, so I'm not really sure where to even begin here.

First of all, Oricon has not tracked manga sales prior to 2008. Second, there is no possible way OP could average to that number in physical sales pre-2008, as the print average is over 1 million below your number - like Rouk mentioned, volumes 1-48 had 140M in circulation, which is my ~2.9M number. Obviously sales cannot be higher than print let alone by that high an amount, so it's quite obvious that sales were lower than that. Emphasis on were, as I only focused on what they had sold prior to 2008, as I needed to extrapolate an average of sorts to understand where OP #1 could be at by that point.

Oricon does not have an LTD for #1, and you can just confirm this for yourself seeing as you can find weeklies for One Piece #1 during the original big boost for OP making it clear that Oricon started counting from 0 after 2008 as previous numbers are not available to them. I'm not even sure what relevance the other numbers have to my point, since any volume that wasn't 1 was not even mentioned in my post, but there is no possible way you would have oricon LTDs for them beyond the yearly(s) they charted in. One Piece 80 charted on yearly 2016 with 2.981M and has never made a weekly since, so it goes without saying an exact up to date oricon number for it doesn't exist, etcetera.

It's a very specific claim and would necessit a source backing it up.

The average was calculated by me. But i have the sales numbers for volumes and their source, well the sources are multiple and i don't know how to
Attach a link in here (haha) but i can tell one source which we can get from a Twitter account and his numbers are either from oricon or sheoseki
I think his account name was Chomp_Manga_Sales.

If you mean this, it's just his estimations. And his conclusion is about the same as mine (OP1 being at 5.2M would be perfectly in line with me saying it's at ~low 5M), so I'm not sure what you're arguing against me for here?

He estimated the numbers for the "untraceable years" via the first prints and circulation updates
 
I, at most, expected to see *some* volumes pop up in the 400-500 range in Shoseki. So I'm not too surprised that Bleach backlogs aren't popping up in top 500.

Its an older series that's more so popular with the older generation who grew up with it rather than the new generation.

Added the Berserk volume 1 hardcover and Chainsaw Man volume 10 as they both appeared in the manga-only monthly top 20 (which removes Solo Leveling, but I keep it as I also track it for other countries).

It's definitely not surprising
Not everything can receive a boost, and a late new season that continues the story from where it left off isn't what's going to bring new readers in.

Lower start than SxF and JJK unless oricon turns out higher (but backlogs generally overperform on shoseki rather than underperform, still, you never know), but still pretty good overall.

Blue lock going good looking for more than double in back lock sales. 4 more volumes in top 500 than last week.
Spy family and one piece are holding strong. Spy family gain some numbers as compare to last week.
One piece got intial 1-6 and 8th volume in top 500 along 91-103 which were the only volumes last week in top 500 for one piece.
Chainsaw man looks like make it double than last week may be bit lower.
 
I always like seeing those small boosts hanging around the 400-500 range. Those are the series no one was expecting anything, so seeing them get something at all is a feel good story. They also don't need to get much.

Well, unless I dislike said series.

Elsewhere, CSM backlog doing pretty well, but it's still too early to know where it'll land. Good start, though. On the long run, it will be interesting to see the difference between 11 and 12 LTDs, also.

It's expected, it has been 13 years since the boost started and we are only now receeding back to pre boost numbers(not really,still a bit above pre skip numbers but getting close) and whatever digital sells.

Look at other series with boosts they lasta.year or two before collapsing.

Considering the amount of copies an OP volume will sell is relatively easy to foresee since the series has amazing consistency overall, I assume Shueisha doesn't really bother sending all the copies on release and just keeps a good amount of them in warehouses for when they're needed.

Spy family has pretty good hold for volume 10 and in backlogs too.
Also one piece has also increased by around 27% any idea why??
Due to it's low first week sale I was expecting chainsaw man volume 12 to hold around 50% but it has good backlog sales and it's increasing may be volume 12 lags out very long (may be).
 
Spy boost is still holding up. Amazing legs.

Chainsaw boost starting and its good although weaker than JJK and SxF. Volume 12 is worrying since its still lower than Volume 11 4-day. Despite the anime airing.

One Piece might hit the 10M mark this year depending on how the new vol performs and if backlog keeps up. MHA at 5m.

one piece will hit 10M. even if it open at 1million for volume 104 ( although more than 1 million is very likely may be around volume 103 numbers).
Current numbers are around 8.3 million so i think in remaining 5 weeks of oricon year it will easily sell more than 1.7 million copies. So, considering it's backlog and the events which will be in volume 104 it shouldn't be a problem for it to top 10M.
What I'm interested in is, that increase in backlog sales of one piece this week. Is it a fluke or the start of final saga has it's effect. Well, we will see in upcoming weeks.

I'm guessing that's the ending boost for the series cause I don't think I've seen it in a series list before or I just missed it previously. It still has 1 more volume left to release i think.

It released two volumes this week. Backlog is almost non-existent at less than 300 copies.

Yeah if OP 104 sells the same as 103 then its guaranteed to sell 10m. Might end up at 10.4m at the end.

I think the backlog sales increase is due to the reprint that happened.

Yeah i agree with you it might sell 10.4 million but it won't change it's position this year in manga sales (4th).
Did reprint actually happened for any one piece volume? If then for which volumes, Can you tell?
I don't think any of last 20 volumes have sold enough copies to be reprinted ( because initial print is still 3.2 million per volume for one piece). May be a small amount for initial volumes? Due to one piece film red initial some volumes had appeared on sheoski weekly 500 many time in last 2 months.
Still rather than sales increased due to reprints i think reprint happens due to increase in sales.
